Last night the Finnart 2015 Blacks played a friendly against a well-organised Third Lanark side at Stonelaw High School. As expected, the game started with some lovely football from both teams, but it was Finnart who opened the scoring after some great team passing and a tidy finish.

Third Lanark responded quickly to make it 1-1, and with both teams playing attacking football, a few more goals followed before the break, leaving it level at 2-2 at half-time.

The second half continued at the same pace, and Finnart edged ahead again with a brilliant strike, but Third Lanark weren’t done and found the net once more to bring it back to 3-3.

With just five minutes to go, our striker showed great determination to keep the ball in play, slipping it past the post for the decisive goal. The game finished 4-3 to Finnart in what was a fantastic match that truly could have gone either way.

Match Report – Finnart FC 2015 Blacks

On Sunday, Finnart FC 2015 Blacks played our first game since moving up to High Intermediate, and what a start it was against a strong Scotland Boys Sky side.

We knew stepping up a level would be tough, and we weren’t disappointed. Both teams played some lovely football, but it was Finnart who struck first to go 1–0 ahead at half time.

Scotland came out strong in the second half, pulling one back to make it 1–1 before a deflected shot put them 2–1 in front. The boys dug deep and showed real determination, with our striker finding the net to level it at 2–2.

With just 5 minutes to go, our striker was fouled on the edge of the box. From the resulting free-kick, the ball was laid off and smashed into the top corner to seal a dramatic 3–2 win for Finnart!

A fantastic performance from both sides and a brilliant way to start our journey at this level. Huge thanks to Scotland Boys Sky for the game and best of luck for the rest of the season.

Match Report – Finnart FC 2015 Blacks vs United Sports Football Academy

Today, Finnart FC 2015 Blacks travelled to Toryglen for a league match against United Sports Football Academy.

The boys started brightly, moving the ball well with some excellent passing and 1-2 football. We created plenty of chances and found the net a few times, while our keeper made key saves to keep a clean sheet going into half-time.

The second half continued in the same fashion, with more great teamwork and solid defending at the back. United Sports pushed hard and eventually pulled one back after three brilliant saves in a row from our keeper. But Finnart responded with more well-worked team goals, securing all three points.

Match Report – Finnart FC Blues vs St Johnstone Academy

Last night, our Finnart FC Blues travelled to Perth to take on the St Johnstone Academy side.

The game started openly, with opportunities at both ends, but our boys soon settled and began to take control. Finnart produced chance after chance, playing some excellent football, while showing great teamwork and discipline to restrict the opposition to only a few sights of goal.

It was a brilliant performance and a fantastic experience for the team to test themselves against Academy opposition.

A big thank you to St Johnstone for hosting us and giving the boys the chance to play against such strong opposition.
