Girls A’LOUD: Get Ready to Ride in 2026 – Scottish Cycling 14/12/2025

✨ Got a girl aged 12–16 in your life?
Or maybe you teach, coach, or work with lots of girls in that age group 👀

Scottish Cycling are looking for girls to fill in our survey and welcome parents and carers of girls to join our spond group.

Who is this for any girls either are or aren’t necessarily already in cycling clubs but who:

• 🚲 Enjoy riding a bike (even just a little!)
• 💬 Want to have their say in shaping a new programme

It’s a chance for them to influence what cycling looks like for young women in Scotland — and to make sure their voices are heard.

Girls A’LOUD: Get Ready to Ride in 2026 – Scottish Cycling Last year we piloted a programme for girls aged 12–16 – a crucial stage in the development of young cyclists and a time when many girls drop out of sport. We’re bringing it back for 2026 and are seeking feedback from potential participants to help shape what the sessions should include.

So far no one in Scotland has applied for the money so there is a pot of money waiting to be spent. It can be for anything that you think will improve your events environmental foot print.

Not long to go still time to sign up.

Lots of good stuff going on.

Just two days left to sign up for the 2024 Scottish Cycling Conference! If you need any further encouragement, we have a great session lined up titled Developing People.

This will start with the assessment of your current volunteer landscape, identifying key themes like existing volunteer roles, gaps in support, and skill needs across areas such as Clubs, Events, Governance, and Coaching. We’ll then focus on volunteer development, exploring ways to improve recruitment, training, and retention, and share ideas for recognition and rewards.

Sign up today before it’s too late: https://scottishcycling.org.uk/news/scottish-cycling-conference-2024-its-all-about-the-people/
