There’s something quietly amazing about eating your breakfast outside.
The cool air, the warmth of the morning sun on your skin, the gentle sounds of the world waking up… and a simple, nourishing breakfast in your hands.
Post gym, I took time to eat outside today as it's so nice.
Before the rush of the day, before the noise — just a moment to breathe, to be present, to connect.
This is what we lean into in my yoga and open water swimming sessions. It's not just movement, not just the water — but the full experience of slowing down and tuning in.
Nothing beats finishing a refreshing swim outside, wrapping up warm, and sitting down to eat as the sun is rising. Your body awake, your mind clear, your senses alive.
My early morning yoga and open water sessions will be starting soon!

Spring is coming 🌱🙏🏼🌊💛
As the water temperature rises, it’s the perfect time to shift from just *surviving* open water to actually **swimming it well**
This spring I’m opening up spots for
**open water swimming coaching**
with a strong focus on:
• Stroke technique in open water
• Efficiency and rhythm without pool walls
• Sighting, breathing, and body position
• Building confidence as conditions improve
Cold water is great for resilience.
Slightly warmer water is ideal for
**learning and refining technique**
If you want to feel smoother, stronger, and more in control before the triathlon season, summer races, or any open water swims, now is the time to start.
📩 Message me to book spring sessions or to ask if this coaching is right for you.

After a very hectic and at times very stressful 2025, with the highest of highs (getting engaged and buying our home) and some very low lows, we had a quiet festive season. A Christmas surrounded by family and a low key hogmanay, full of bugs 🤧
Then ~ snowed in for 8 days.
Completely cut off! No work, no school, no gym, no cars...
so, this week has felt like my official start to the year.
Back in the pool 🏊🏼♀️
Back in loch🌊
back to movement 🧘🏼♀️
back at the gym🏋🏼♀️
back to school runs 🚗
and back to those quiet grounding moments and sunrise walks, with my stepdaughter even asking to join me on one yesterday before school! Genuine win 💛
One of those 'we didn't plan this, but it mattered' moments, that often end up being up there in your highlights of the year.
So yes, this week has felt like a fresh start. The kind that lands in your body, not just on the calendar. Eight days snowed in is a forced pause most of us never give ourselves...so, no wonder it's felt like the actual beginning of the year for my household.
Ive had lots of reflective conversations this week with other people who had messy or delayed starts, people who are leaning into that same gentle re-entry energy rather than big bang resolutions, more 'lets build momentum' than 'new year, new everything!!' I always think making big resolutions at new year sets yourself up for failure 🤷🏼♀️
Easing in to the year with intention rather than pressure, is honestly the best way to start a year. Here's to steady routines, brighter mornings and unexpected company on the path ahead 🥰
Fresh starts don't have to happen on January the first. Sometimes they arrive when the mind is ready for action, the body is ready to move, the breath feels deeper and slower and routines begin to flow, rather than forcing themselves upon you, feeling overwhelming.
If your year also started slowly (or sideways) remember you can begin again, any time. Each sunrise invites a new day, filled with opportunities to rest, to move, to learn, to grow, to work, to train, to heal, whatever it is you need in your life and have promised yourself in those quiet moments of self love and kindness, to do more of.
Gentle momentum counts. Returning to the water counts. Rolling out your mat again counts. Reading a page at a time counts.Tiny steps count.
Speaking of fresh starts,
My open water swimming coaching diary is open again. Now taking bookings for March onwards.

If you're interested in finding out more about how dipping through winter can benefit your mental health, get in touch for a one to one, or small group session with me.
The temperatures have dropped, but that doesn't mean we need to stop getting in the water, as long as we know how to be safe,
before
during
and after our swim.

What an amazing night was had at the annual ball. Over 400 people attended the ball this year. Wow. Just. Wow.
Kirsty, the frankly amazing (and very beautiful) founder, has achieved and is achieving, so much good...through hard work, determination and an emotionally driven purpose, pushing forward and expanding the foundation she created in memory of her shining little star daughter, Darcey Sunshine 💛
The foundation was established in 2020, spreading sunshine into the lives of children from South Africa's most vulnerable communities through survival swim lessons, water safety education and nutrition. The Scottish Project supports it's South African sister in the valuable work they do, whilst bringing water safety education to the children of Scotland and beyond. Check them out and show your support. Swimming is an important life skill, that needs to be taught to all.
Yes, there was some tequila, yes, there was some dancing, but most importantly there was an incredible amount of money raised and support given on the night.
Thank you dear of for inviting me to join your table this year. A gorgeous girlie table, I was surrounded by amazing women 🥰🥂❤️
The whole ball was brimming full of familiar faces, and lots of new faces too! While the tragedy leading to the creation of this incredible charity was felt throughout the room, especially when Kirsty herself stood to address us all, the night was one also filled with joy and hope.
Well done to ALL involved in the event of the year!
👏🏼🙌🏼💛

**Free yoga**
Please private message me nominating someone you think could really benefit from some yoga in their life (they must live in ABERDEENSHIRE) The first five people nominated will get a free personalised one to one session, tailored just for them.
Today is , a day inspired by the actions of KD, a very kind teenager, who died from a rare form of meningitis. Today would’ve been his 25th birthday and while KinDness day is to celebrate KD’s life and continue all the selfless and thoughtful acts that he did, don’t let the KinDness stop there.
Being KinD every day is a step towards a change in the way we all interact with each other. In a world that moves at such a fast pace and can feel very overwhelming with everything going on locally and all over the world, we often forget how easy it is to be KinD...and how important, but less easy, it is to be KinD to ourselves too.
Yoga is one of the kindest things you can do for yourself, helping balance body and mind, reducing stress and anxiety and nurturing self love, which in turn enables us to be more loving.
So my act of KinDness today is to offer my time and what I’ve learnt and am still learning through yoga for free.
Yoga has personally helped me over the years (with anxiety, depression, lack of self love and connection to myself and others) and continues to do so, in so many ways. Yoga can provide a safe space to breathe, to heal and rehabilitate and can have a great effect on mental wellbeing, as well as physical health.
Women, Men, Children. Old, or young. Fit, or unfit, Different levels of abilities. Yoga is for everybody, and every body.
Please private message me nominating someone you think could really benefit from some yoga in their life (they must live in ABERDEENSHIRE) The first five people nominated will get a free personalised one to one session, tailored just for them.
KinDness doesn’t cost a thing, sprinkle it everywhere. Whether it’s your time, your strength, your skill, your knowledge, everyone has something they can share 💛
