Sorry I haven't posted for a while but still recovering from an operation. Hoping to start offering fittings again from April/May.

Tonight's fitting was with the Legend that is….Neil Clark.

Correctly fitted cleats and aligned to a neutral feet position. Stem and seat adjustment made to the bike to help with ongoing shoulder pain.

Yesterdays fitting was with Jeroen who had previously been fitted by Edinburgh Bike Fitting company, but unfortunately he had his bike stolen. He therefore asked me to carry out a bike fit on his new stead.

The fit took over 2 hours and we looked at some elements including:-
✔️We carried out a cleat assessment first and moved his cleats to a more natural position for increased comfort whilst cycling.
✔️Then we moved onto the seat height and made a small adjustment.
✔️Checked the Saddle position and no adjustment was needed.
✔️Stem moved to the upward position and we changed it to a longer stem. This gives the arms and shoulders a better angle.

👍Overall body position was so much better and the customer felt more comfortable and relaxed.

Part of my journey Into the bike fitting world and bike mechanics. I am spending my Friday's volunteering at the Gallaton Bike Hub in Kirkcaldy.

Today I trued (straightened) a wheel that was badly buckled and I replaced a spoke on a BMX. Then I spent time changing the gear cables and indexing the gears on another customers bike.

Then home I went to start servicing a customers road bike.

Tonights bike fitting was with Andy Milne

✔️Set his cleats to align with his natural body position

✔️Checked his shoes for sizing which were correct.

✔️Changed his seat angle to help with body position and weight distribution. Instant results with body position and balance. Happy Andy!!

✔️Checked his knee alignment and carried out a slight alteration to his left cleat to help straighten his stroke.

I have now taken his bike back to the workshop for a service and clean.

Great review from a Bike Fit that I carried out today, and it was a pleasure working with Gareth Piggot.

We moved his Cleats to a more natural position, and I made some recommendations on shoe sizing.

We angled and adjusted his seat, including his seat height for better fluid cycling.

Finally we moved his elbow pads to make his elbows sit better, also we raised the Tri bars up to make it more comfortable and a better aero position.

Fitting carried out last night.

Ian has been complaining of sore shoulders with pins and needles in both hands. When carrying out the fitting, I noticed Ian puts a lot of weight into his arms and hands when cycling. This can cause sore shoulders, neck and pins and needles.

We balanced his position and took away some of the forward weight with the fitting. He was looking so much more comfortable.
