βšͺπŸ”΄ Matchday 4

We started well and played most of the first half in Templehall’s half, we moved the ball well working it down the wings and putting a lot of dangerous crosses into the box without really capitalising in the first half.

HT 0-0

We told the boys to keep doing what they were doing and the breakthrough would come and after Harris D got brought down outside the box, Troy stepped up and scored an excellent free kick to get us going. The game turned scrappy and bit a stop start with a few fouls being committed from both sides. We got our second goal when a corner from Bradley was whipped in Max attacked and the defender put it in his own net.

The third came from Nathan when a great through ball from Bradley had a bit much on it but Nathan pressed the defender giving him no time and took it off him well and slid it past the on rushing keeper. The fourth came in the last minute when we worked the ball into Caoran's feet inside the box and he was wiped out by the defender, Caoran took and scored the penalty.

The boys were excellent today; they moved the ball well and dominated from start to finish and on another day could have had more goals.

πŸ”΄βšͺ MOTM - Troy. Welcome back to the Glens, Troy!
There were a few candidates today for MOTM but Troy controlled the middle of the park with his tenacity and ability on the ball and has been an excellent addition to the team πŸ’ͺ.

πŸ”΄βšͺ Matchday 4

Another away day and a very wet morning for the boys up against a good and well organised Blue Brazil team.

For the second week running the boys came out at the start of the game very quick and we found ourselves going 1-0 with a controlled finish from outside the box from Bev from a rebound from the keeper.

We were under a bit pressure after this with Blue Brazil moving the ball well but not creating too much and we looked very dangerous on the counter attack. Blue Brazil pulled the game level.

We started to get a bit more of the ball after this and found ourselves going ahead again after a great through ball from Quinn C and Alexander smashing the ball into the top corner. Blue Brazil pegged us back again and it went in 2-2 at half time.

The second half the game became slightly end to end with Blue Brazil striking to take the lead for the first time in the match. We never let this affect us as struck back with another goal by Alexander played through by Stuart.
We had a few chances after this to get a couple goals in front of but were unlucky not to take them with Blue Brazil then getting ahead and got another goal to take the game away from us.

The score line looks harsh on our boys after the performance they put in today, with both teams playing some excellent football throughout. Good luck to Blue Brazil for the season ahead - we look forward to welcoming you to Warout soon.

The boys are playing with confidence and heart just now which is great to see and they are playing some really nice football. Well done to you all.

βšͺs Vs Kelty Hearts
πŸ”΄ FFDL Div 1

Another away day for the boys (3rd on the trot) today, and their biggest challenge was carrying on the performance from midweek. We came out the traps really quick and found ourselves 1-0 up inside the first minute via Alexander through Bev.

We continued to have chance after chance and couldn’t convert them with some poor pressure on the ball allowing Kelty to play neat 1-2s through the middle of the park and equalise. We eventually got ourselves back in front through a well worked goal with Alexander getting his second from a cut back from Stuart. Alexander finished off his first half hat trick before half time with a pass from Samuel.

At half time we said to the boys that the next goal was crucial and to close the gaps in the back line that Kelty were causing some problems through. We did this and were very strong in the second half. Alexander got himself another goal through Quinn C who stood up 5 minutes later to smash a great free kick in to definitely put the game to bed. The boys didn’t stop there with Samuel and Remi getting on the score sheet via an assist from Alexander and Hamish.

Another strong performance from the boys overall and hopefully we can continue this going forward. The work rate on and off the ball is good to see; 5 different people with assists today aswell which shows we are working the ball around the pitch πŸ‘πŸ‘ Well done to you all ⚽️⚽️.

Coaches MOTM - Kwame (sponsored by Unique Resin Surfacing): Kwame worked really hard the full game and was unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet this week, which was all that was missing from his performance.

Refs MOTM - Alexander: His work rate was second to none the full game, being a constant threat and nuisance to the Kelty defence and was rewarded with 4 great goals and an assist.

Parents MOTM - Alexander: He deserved to be parents MOTM today, looked like his old self fighting for everything and not beating himself up πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ

Well done to all of you for another great team performance. πŸ”΄βšͺπŸ”΄βšͺπŸ‘πŸΌ

πŸ”΄s Vs Raith Rovers United
βšͺ FFDL Division 2

The game started scrappy today with both teams turning over possession needlessly with not many chances being created. The opener came from a ball over our defence; Theo went to catch and thumbled it and the ball hit the arm of the on rushing defender and Raith were awarded a penalty which was scored in the 15th minute. We started to have a little control after that and created a few chances with Nathan going in a 1v1 with the keeper which he saved and Troy having a shot from outside the box which hit the post.

HT 0-1

Second half we were excellent; we moved the ball a lot better and had space down both sides of Raith. We got the equaliser in the 1st minute after a through ball from Nico, calmly finished by Nathan. The second came in the 6th minute when Nathan who was through on goal was brought down from behind. Up stepped Bradley with another unbelievable free kick into the top left corner. We got our 3rd in the 14th minute through Bradley again, when the ball was cleared by the Raith defence, he let an absolute peach of a left foot half volley into the top right corner. The 4th came in the 30th minute and was a well worked goal, after great feet from Dazza on the middle of the park, to get past 3 players and slide Junior in who slotted into the bottom right corner. The 5th goal came in the 32nd minute and Bradley completed his hat trick with another great finish.

His hat trick today was unbelievable but his work rate and communication was a lot better today. He found loads of space and took full advantage.

βšͺ Matchday 2
πŸ”΄ Luncarty City 2013s vs βšͺs
βšͺ FFDL Division 1

πŸ”΄βšͺ FT: 3-3

After Sundays performance we expected a reaction from the boys tonight. The problem was we had the daunting task of going away to play the 25/26 league winners, however what a difference 3 days can make.

After Sunday, we asked for a reaction, and a reaction is exactly what we got this evening.

The first half both teams sort of cancelled each other out and we found ourselves really unlucky not to go in 1-0 up at half time with a goal being chalked off.

HT: 0-0

At half time we asked the boys to keep up the work rate and desire.

We started the second half confidently and found ourselves going 1-0 up after a corner was recycled back wide, with Samuel delivering again, Luncarty cleared this and Bev hit a rocket on the drop from the edge of the box into the top corner.

Luncarty were then awarded a penalty to draw the game level but were denied by a great save from Quinn πŸ™Œ . They did however continue to press and got an equaliser.

That didn’t dent us and we showed grit, regrouping and got a second; Remi swung a free kick in from deep and Kwame managed to get on the ball in the box and poked the ball home.

Luncarty continued to press hard, however the boys used the ball well and passed through the opposition up into Alexander’s feet, supported by Hamish who he slipped in to with Hamish scoring confidently to go 3-1 up.

Luncarty pressed and pressed after this getting a goal back and unfortunately scored an equaliser with a minute to go.

The boys turned up tonight and showed exactly what they are capable of and did what we have been telling them for months. Confidence going forward is key - well done to you all ⚽️

Coaches MOTM - McCall (sponsored by Abbey Developments (Fife) Ltd): McCall was solid at the back tonight, cleared his lines when needed and made the pass when needed.

Ref's MOTM - Bev: Bev worked hard in midfield the full game and used the ball well (think ref gave it to him for his goal πŸ˜‚).

Parents MOTM - Quinn A (sponsored by Healing Energies with Karen): Quinn looked more confident in goals tonight and had a big moment saving the penalty - well done !

On to Sunday for our 3rd away fixture on the trot, where we meet Kelty Hearts for the first time in a league game.
