Something I want you to know about Pilates Flow. 😊

Nobody in that room is watching you.

Not in a bad way. In the best possible way.

Everyone who walks through our door is entirely focused on their own body, their own movement and their own quiet challenge with whatever the class is throwing at them that day. The person next to you on the Reformer or mat is not comparing themselves to you. They are wondering why their left hip is doing that thing again.

At Pilates Flow there is no right body. No right level. No right pace.

There is only YOUR body. YOUR level. YOUR pace.

We have members who have been coming for two years and members who came for the first time last week. Members in their 30s and members in their 60s. Members recovering from surgery and members training for their next challenge. Members who can do everything and members who are still building the foundations to get there.

Every single one of them belongs here equally.

Progress at Pilates Flow is not measured against anyone else. It is measured against where YOU started. And in our experience β€” when people are given the space to progress at their own pace without judgment or comparison β€” they progress faster, further and with far more joy than they ever expected.

Come as you are. Move at your pace. Belong completely. 🌿

WOW! We really do have something for every single one of you, no matter where you are on your Pilates journey! πŸ’›

If you've been thinking about starting but aren't quite sure what to expect...

πŸ‘‰ Book our FREE Introduction to Pilates Workshop on Wednesday 9th September.

If you're a lady who feels a little more anxious about joining a mixed group and would feel more comfortable in a women-only environment...

πŸ‘‰ Come along to my FREE Ladies Only Introduction to Pilates Workshop on Sunday 6th September. It's relaxed, friendly and a lovely way to take that first step.

If you've already been coming to classes for a little while and would like to deepen your understanding of Pilates and movement...

πŸ‘‰ I highly recommend Bjorn's workshop – The Foundations of Movement: Feet, Core & Breath.

It's a fantastic workshop that will completely change how you think about movement. The workshop is just Β£15, or one class credit if you're already part of our Pilates Flow community.

And if you're ready to try the thing that seems to be taking the fitness world by storm...

πŸ‘‰ It's time to make friends with the Reformer!

We've scheduled a 70-minute "Make Friends with the Reformer" workshop, led by the wonderful Tina.

There are only 5 spaces left, and I have a feeling they won't be around for long!

If you've been curious about Reformer Pilates, this is the perfect place to start.

Whatever stage you're at, we'd love to help you take the next step.

See you soon! πŸ’›

Here's a little challenge for you...

Take 2 minutes today to plan your movement for the week.

Book your Pilates classes into your diary now, just like you would a GP appointment or a meeting.

One thing I've noticed over the years is that people who have a plan are much more likely to stick with it. They don't wait until they "feel motivated"β€”they simply show up.

Your future self will thank you for it.

A stronger body, better posture, fewer aches and more energy don't happen by accident. They happen one class at a time.

So... what does your week look like? Have you booked your Flow yet? 😊

Here is our schedule for this upcoming week!

NEW MONTH, NEW HIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH :-)
🌟 Highlight of the Month – Kathryn M 🌟
========================================================
There are some people who quietly make the world a better place simply by being themselves.

For us, Kathryn is one of those people. πŸ’›

Kathryn first came to one of my free Sunday Pilates workshops, and from that very first session she blossomed into one of our favourite Flow Souls. She has this incredible combination of kindness, helpfulness and the biggest heart. She's simply one of those people who is welcomed wherever she goes because she makes everyone around her feel comfortable.

She could easily spend her Friday evenings in a lovely restaurant... but instead she chooses to bring her cheerful self to Pilates Flow. I'm very grateful she does. 😊

Over the last two years we've laughed together, we've cried together and, most importantly, we've cheered each other on.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of my favourite chapters has been watching Kathryn's "Brave Year." She made a conscious decision to stop avoiding the things that scared her and instead gently lean into them.

A few months later, Holly walked through the Pilates Flow doors.

I remember Holly as this wonderfully humble person who never seemed to realise just how beautiful her Pilates movement already was. Before long, the two of them were bouncing jokes, laughter and encouragement between classes.

Fast forward to today...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kathryn even inspired Holly to change jobs, and now these two gorgeous humans get to see each other every single day, not just on Fridays! ❀️

Watching that friendship grow has been one of those unexpected gifts that our little community has created.

Movement brings people together, but it's the people who make the community.

From a Pilates perspective, Kathryn's transformation has been incredible too.

I still remember one of her first classes when simply standing with her feet together was a real challenge. Balance didn't come naturally, and every movement required so much concentration.

Now?

She's performing single-leg deadlifts with weights as though they're the easiest thing in the world.

If you met Kathryn today, you would never guess that dyspraxia has been part of her journey. She picks up new movement patterns incredibly quickly, embraces every challenge with a smile and continues to inspire me in class every single week.

Kathryn, thank you for bringing your warmth, your courage, your laughter and your beautiful energy to Pilates Flow.

You remind us all that being brave doesn't mean being fearless.

Sometimes it simply means turning up... week after week... and allowing yourself to grow.

We're so lucky to have you. πŸ’›
Now in her words....

How did you first find Pilates Flow?

My son, he's an only child, had just started university and I was feeling very lost and sad. My house and my life suddenly felt a lot emptier. I knew I needed to start doing something for myself and luckily a Facebook event popped up for a Pilates Flow introductory session. I am not someone who has ever been to a class without a friend so just booking on my own felt petrifying! I'm still not sure how I found the confidence to even walk in but I warmed to Anna immediately. I wasn't sure if id be able to really do a full pilates class but felt empowered to try and I booked my first class as soon as I got home home. That was two years ago and ive honestly amazed myself with what I can actually do.

First Reformer Class?

I was genuinely petrified (there's a theme here!) before my first reformer session.
I struggle with balance and coordination due to dyspraxia. My dad had so many challenges teaching me to swim, ride a bike and drive! So being so uncoordinated I was convinced I would break the reformer or fall off. I had a 1:1 session with Anna and didn't break the reformer although reformer broke me. I honestly didn't realise i could get into such deep stretches. I couldn't walk for two days afterwards though!

What has Pilates Flow given me?

Physically I have noticed so many improvements in my flexibility, posture and most importantly my balance.
Mentally though pilates has helped to quiet the increased anxiety I am feeling in menopause.
But the very best thing Pilstes Flow has given me are the friends and support of such a friendly and safe community. Thank you Anna and Bjorn πŸ’šπŸ’š

8 months ago I made a decision that scared me.

I walked away from fifteen years of military combat training and fi****ms courses β€” the career that had defined me completely β€” and opened a Pilates Reformer studio.

People thought I was mad. Honestly, I thought I was a bit mad too. πŸ˜„

But here's what I knew that nobody else could see yet.

Everything I had learned about the human body, about discipline, about what people are capable of when they feel supported β€” all of it translated perfectly into Pilates.

I just needed to trust it.

Three years later Pilates Flow has over 1000 followers, a community of incredible humans, a husband who teaches alongside me and a son who occasionally wanders into class and tries to steal the spikey balls. ;-)

Best decision I ever made. 🌿

Ps. Pilates Flow will be 3 years old in October. Pilates Flow Reformer Studio is only 4 months old :D

I want to be honest about something.

Running Pilates Flow is not always easy. The 3 months of summer have seen many places like ours close...

There are weeks where the classes don't fill and the rent still needs paying. Weeks where I'm teaching, managing the business, being a mum and trying to remember to eat something that isn't a biscuit. πŸ˜„

But then someone sends me a message saying their back pain has gone. Or that they won a pringle eating competition with their foot (haha, this one made me laugh!) I watch a member do something their body couldn't do three months ago. Or BjΓΆrn catches my eye across the studio and does that small nod that means β€” yes. This is exactly what we're supposed to be doing.

And I remember why we started.

Every single time. :-)
We love what we do. Thank you for being here and cheering for us.🌿
