During the next few weeks all players will be given equal opportunity when all the coaches look at the teams for next season.
Many of the responses from the unofficial canvassing that took place suggested that parents wanted the players to remain in their current teams next season that is not being ignored. However during the next few seasons players ability levels will change, we need to ensure they are playing at the correct level and move the players around to ensure we reflect this to support their development at the relevant level.
We are emphasising that we may move players around mid season if their form dictates a move (after consulting with the relevant parent). All coaches have formed bonds with their players and also have good relationships with you the parents and are keen for this to continue.
All of the coaching staff need your support on this. There will be circumstances that require exceptions but please be aware we are trying to maintain fairness to all, improve development and integration.
Regards the under8s coaches
To improve player development and consistency with the club's values changes to the squads will occur next season to enable players to play with players of similar ability next season we will have a 1st, 2nd and two mixed teams then enter them into leagues of relevant level.
The intention is to provide easier movement amongst teams, greater integration of the players and continued improvement. We will consult with parents when the teams are formed but changes will continue through stages of next season when required to reflect player development or needs.
These changes are intended to be positive and fair, any questions please speak with the coaches after training or feel free to call (at suitable times!)
Cheers under8s coaching team
