CAPTAINS NOTES:

Good Morning and welcome to captains notes. Today see’s us travel along the coast to face Whitstable 2nd XI, who kicked their campaign off last week with a thumping victory over Walmer 1st XI.

Today is going to test every single facet of our cricketing ability and mental capability. But as a side, we’ve learnt a lot from the three pre season fixtures we’ve played and I’m confident that the boys will give it their all in today’s fixture.

Our pre season saw us win two out if the three fixtures, with the third and final fixture against Street End being abandoned due to heavy rain which spoiled what would’ve been another well deserved victory for the team.

We knew going into this season that it was going to be the toughest one yet, and Whitstable are going to be the biggest test of all. But as long as we stick to our plans, do the basics well and fight every single ball then I’m sure we will be in with a good shot of claiming victory.

UP THE ADDERS! 🐍

CAPTAINS NOTES: Addington Village 1st XI vs Oakfield Warriors 1st XI - 18/4/2026

After a very long wait, the 2026 cricket season has finally arrived. Today we host Division 7 side Oakfield Warriors led by their captain
Naren Ramakrishnan. We know we are going to be facing a team with a lot of fight in Oakfield Warriors, nevertheless myself and the membership at Addington wish Naren and his team a warm welcome at the Snake Pit.

A lot of hard work has been put in both by the membership and the committee in the off season, and we hope that all of that hard work pays off this season, starting with today’s match.

Making his Addington Village debut, Mr Dylan Cutting who arrived from South Africa Wednesday this week. Already part of the adders family, Dylan we wish you all the best in today’s game and the rest of the season.

COYA 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍

Yours truly
James Conway
