Proud doesn’t even cover it after the girls’ rugby match! 🏉
We saw some fantastic rugby played out there – great teamwork, brilliant passes, and fearless play from start to finish. But what stands out most is the huge progress so many of the girls have made. You’ve worked so hard, and it’s wonderful to see your effort paying off on the pitch. You should all be so proud of yourselves – you were brilliant! 🙌

We have decided to skip playing our next match on the rugby field and instead play it at the Leigh Walk-In Centre.

This cuts out the middle man and as the vast majority of our girls are banged up already it will save a lot of time.

Thanks to Halton Farnworth Hornets Girls U12s for putting on their annual festival today!

The girls are battered, bruised, frustrated and tired after playing Haydock Thursday and 4 tourney games today! We started slowly but got going before hanging on against Ince at the end.

Week of rest and then Festival number 3 at Ince next weekend.

Best day of the week!
These are our Under 11s last year and current u12s (and UK Open Age Tug-of-War Champions)… (without Isabelle)… two of these girls has since left. This was in Spring 2025.

Despite LMR being the biggest amateur rugby club in the country, this particular age group for the Girls has been a slow burner and an anomaly for numbers due to splitting of teams (current u13s).

We ended 2025 with 9 or so regular girls and now we have 16+ and growing! We aim to join our older (and younger girls ages, the Mighty 11s) in terms of numbers thanks to the efforts of Coaches Ryan and Ben and the Boss Celia Farrimond.

We wouldn’t change what we have for the World! Win Lose or Draw every girl has a place and days like today at Halton Farnworth Hornets Girls U12s Festival is what it’s all about.

Newer age teams at this age like Hindpool Tigers - keep at it… we are the same.

We shall wait for you on the pitch!
💪

Game day! 🏉 The U12s are heading to the Halton Festival tomorrow for what promises to be a fantastic day of action.

The girls have been training hard and are excited to test their skills against the opposition. It’s all about teamwork and enjoying the game we love. Good luck to the whole squad—play hard, look after each other, and have a brilliant time! 🌟

They love a good Festival!

We head to Halton Farnworth Hornets Girls U12s for the second Festival of the season tomorrow.

It will be a tough day against strong teams - we expect some good games and maybe one Tug-of-War challenge!
Safe trips by our Yorkshire and Cumbrian friends too tomorrow!

On Thursday Night we welcomed Haydock Warriors Girls U12s to Sutton Park for a return fixture.

The Miners donned their new Charity Shirt 👚 for Leigh Miners Welfare Institute which we will use for training and warm ups! Looks good aye!?

Haydock have come a long way in a short space of time so we will need to be in the ball next season we think!

Thanks for coming down Yickers and keep on going upward!

But… this Team! The Mighty Miners! 💪
