Cleethorpes Town U7's 🆚 Discoveries New Boys

"So unbelievably proud of each and every one of the girls today.

At the beginning I set each pitch a separate challenge.
1️⃣ - Run until you can't run anymore and win the ball back.
2️⃣ - Be alert and do everything fast.
3️⃣ - Teamwork. The aim of this was to get the girls to really focus on one aspect of the game rather than bombard them with information.... we've got years for that 🤣.

Some really nice and positive feedback from the opposition coaches which for me is so amazing to hear. They complimented our attitude and performance & couldn't believe we've only been playing for a couple of months.

I got the girls to give themselves a huge pat on the back today as they absolutely deserve it. (Syd abstained from this as I think she thought it was too cringe 🤣)

It was a very very tough decision with many deserving candidates but... today went to FLISS!! As above, gave us everything she had today and then some, super work kiddo and keep it going.

Thank you as well to Stu for coming down and helping us today.

Also, as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month the girls all wore something pink 🩷 Headbands, bobbles, socks, you name it, all in the name of raising awareness. We'll do this for every game throughout the month of October so I've challenged them to be creative.

"Girls, what can I say… so much to take away from that game today! 🦉

Clee Town 7 - Brigg Town 9

WOW what a fantastic, close game AGAIN 🤩 We were fantastic today. Our tackling, speed, defending and shots were brilliant, and we showed real confidence under pressure, including from the penalty spot. If the opposition hadn’t had one player carrying so much of their team, we could have been looking at a very different scoreline!

There are still things we need to work on. We need to be braver and quicker to go to the ball to stop the opposition attacking. At times, two players are going towards the ball before both backing off. Remember, one player goes to the ball, and the other supports them and working together to move the ball forward. We’ll keep working on this in training 💪

🏆 PLAYERS OF THE MATCH: PIPER & EMILIA E 🏆

Emilia has been out injured with her foot for a while, but today she came back fighting! She kept pushing forward and produced a fantastic, clean strike from the penalty spot. What a way to come back 👏⚽️

Piper has also been out for a few weeks through sickness, but WOW, it was like you’d never been away! Trying a new position, tackling, getting to the ball, never giving up and driving that ball down the pitch. That determination and work rate are exactly what we want to see. Keep that going 💪

Girls, be proud of yourselves today. There’s plenty to learn from, but there was also so much to celebrate. You battled, you worked for each other, and you showed what you’re capable of when you believe in yourselves.

We’ll take the positives, learn from the challenges and keep pushing forward together 🦉

Let's hear from Sam the manager of Cleethorpes Town Tilletts U16...

"🌬️ A fresh and windy morning at The Academy Grimsby as we took on Marshalls Sports FC!

Not our prettiest performance for large parts of the game, and at times we looked a little off the mark, but there were still plenty of positives 🙌

Some lovely goals, positive attacking moves and excellent one-touch football showed glimpses of the Tilletts U16's we know and love! Plenty to learn from, as always, and we’ll keep working hard to keep raising our game ⚽🔥

🏆🌟 PLAYER OF THE MATCH & PARENTS’ PLAYER OF THE MATCH - BETSY 🌟🏆

Betsy was fantastic, using her pace, moving the ball brilliantly, creating opportunities and reading the game so well! And she got herself on the scoresheet not once, but TWICE 🔥🥅

⚫️🔵⚽️ Under 12's Training ⚽️🔵⚫️

This evening's session was productive, focusing on passing and movement techniques.

The first half of the session was dedicated to completing specific drills, beginning with unopposed exercises and progressing to more competitive scenarios.

Our gameplay emphasised spatial awareness, utilising the passing and movement exercises practised during the session.

Overall, it was a successful session with noticeable progress.

This week’s decision was particularly challenging, so I have chosen to recognise the entire team. The players demonstrated excellent teamwork, including activities where they were organised into mixed groups to enhance familiarity and camaraderie.

Here's what Gav says the U7's got up to in training...

"Great session last night where we started with a fun game of noughts and crosses to get the girls warmed up. Pretty competitive and im sure the girls could have played it all night.

We then split the girls into 4 teams to compete in the very first Clee Town U7s Europa World Championship Cup of the Universe. Again, I just wanted to take this opportunity for the girls to work on their match day experience. Playing quickly, keeping focused and being 1 step ahead of the opposition.
Bags and bags of quality play and goals to match with the caviate of a bonus goal if making a pass before scoring.

Some closely battled encounters but...... going away with the trophy and joint trainers of week are.... team Orange (Betsy and Zara). Well done girls, thoroughly well deserved and very well played.

Everyone came away smiling tonight which is what its all about. Special thanks to Iain and Jake for facilitating the games and keeping score."
