Our final tournament of the summer, and what a long day it was!
The boys were outstanding from start to finish, playing some excellent football and showing great character throughout the day. Despite having three players missing, which meant we only had one substitute, and with two players kindly helping us out, the lads never let their standards drop. They gave everything in every game.
We were unfortunate to go a goal down in the semi-final after creating the better chances, but that’s football sometimes. The effort, teamwork and attitude from every single player made us incredibly proud.
Player of the Tournament goes to Jude.
Jude started the day at right-back and was as reliable as ever, defending brilliantly and giving everything for the team before returning to his more familiar position in central midfield. From there, he put in two outstanding performances, linking play superbly with his teammates, working tirelessly, and coming so close to getting on the scoresheet with a couple of excellent free kicks.
As we head into the close season, the work doesn’t stop. We’ll be preparing, developing and building towards next season, when things become even more competitive with some very strong teams moving back into our age group. We know the challenge ahead will be tough, but we also believe in this group of boys. They’ve shown throughout the season that they have the quality, attitude and determination to compete with anyone, and we’re excited to see how far they can go.
A big thank you to the two lads who helped us out today—we really appreciate you stepping in.
We’ll now enjoy a couple of weeks off before we get back to work with pre-season training and friendlies, ready to build towards what promises to be an exciting season ahead.

Albie takes today's player of the match, he was rock solid at the back tonight. He showed great strength in every challenge and excellent awareness throughout the game. His ability to read situations early and position himself perfectly meant he was always ready to deal with any threat. A composed and commanding performance that demonstrated both his defensive qualities and his growing understanding of the game.

We had a tournament in Hull today in the Champions League group, and it was a tough day for the boys, especially with three key players unavailable. Despite that, they showed great character, battled hard throughout, and came away with an excellent result.
The standout performer today was Leo Jagger, who was outstanding at the back and a constant threat going forward with his pace. It was fantastic to see him playing with a smile on his face again and enjoying his football.

What a weekend for Grimsby United U11s at the Game of Tournaments in Redcar! 🏆⚽
After making the trip over to Scarborough for a brilliant day of football, the boys showed incredible character, determination and togetherness to come away with the trophy after a memorable tournament performance from start to finish.
It didn’t all begin smoothly. The first two games were incredibly frustrating, with the lads dominating possession, creating chances and controlling large parts of both matches, only to lose each game 1-0. Despite the performances being strong, the results left it looking like it could be an early exit from the tournament.
But this group showed exactly what they are made of.
From the third game onwards, the confidence started to grow, the energy lifted and suddenly the boys looked unstoppable. Once they found their shooting boots, they became a threat every single time they went forward, playing some fantastic football along the way.
Defensively, the team were outstanding throughout the day. Spenno, Haz, Waumo, Albie and Leo were absolutely rock solid at the back, battling for every ball, staying disciplined and making life difficult for every team they faced. Behind them, Romeo was calmness personified in goal and on the ball, always looking to play out from the back. Across the entire tournament, the team only conceded twice — both from unstoppable strikes that no goalkeeper was getting near.
In midfield, Jude and Bobby really started to take control of games as the tournament progressed. Their work rate, composure and ability to drive the team forward gave us a real platform to build from and helped turn pressure into chances at the other end.
Going forward, Noah, Olle and Fin were unplayable at times. Their movement, energy and link-up play caused problems for every defence they came up against.
Olle was frustrated not to get himself on the scoresheet early in the tournament after working tirelessly for the team and constantly putting defenders under pressure. But he never let his head drop and kept believing. Before the final he was told his chance would come — and what a moment it turned out to be. Two brilliant headed goals in the final, delivered when the team needed them most, capped off a fantastic performance.
Special mention has to go to our joint Players of the Tournament, Finley and Noah. Fin was absolutely outstanding all day, impossible to handle at times and constantly creating chances for others. Even without getting on the scoresheet himself, he finished the tournament with an incredible SIX assists, including THREE directly from corners. Noah’s work rate and determination never dropped for a second, and every time he found himself through one-on-one, you backed him to score. His energy and quality in front of goal were massive for us throughout the day.
Most importantly though, every single player played their part in bringing home the trophy. The teamwork, attitude, resilience and togetherness shown by the whole squad made everyone connected to the team incredibly proud.
A fantastic achievement for this group and the first trophy for the cabinet this season — hopefully the first of many more to come for this brilliant bunch of lads. 💙🏆⚽

Saturday marked our first tournament of the summer ☀️⚽
While the results didn’t quite go our way, the team showed great spirit, made the most of every moment, and had a fantastic day together.
A special shoutout to our Player of the Tournament, Fin
He showed incredible determination, battled all over the pitch, and demonstrated exactly why he’s such a vital part of this team.
Plenty to build on — we go again! 🔥
