Horse wanted!

I’m looking for a horse on behalf of a client who is keen to find a genuine, safe and sensible partner to enjoy working up the dressage levels with.

Ideally, we’re looking for a horse 16hh upwards, established on the flat, with the ability and potential to progress through the levels, but temperament is key. A horse that is kind, genuine and confidence-giving, suitable for an amateur rider to enjoy and develop with.

Preferably not too young, and with a bit of experience under its belt. However, a younger horse with an exceptionally sensible, straightforward and easygoing temperament would certainly be considered.

We’re looking for a horse that is safe, sane and sensible, with a good attitude to its work and the right temperament to be a much-loved partner.

If you have, or know of, a horse that might fit the bill, please get in touch. Happy to consider horses that may not be advertised, and all suggestions welcome.

Please message me with details, videos and price. Thank you!

A little snippet of the work with Marie Woodward’s Dylan.

We’ve been working on relaxation, opening his frame and helping him understand what’s being asked of him. The more the work makes sense to him, the more confident he becomes, and the more he can start to let go and work through his body.

Only 15.2hh, but certainly making up for it in presence! A little horse with plenty to give 🩷

Baloo šŸ¤Ž

There’s something about a horse in a field that makes you stop and take a photo, even when you’ve probably got about 47 very similar ones already. šŸ˜‚

What’s your favourite thing to do with your horse when you’re not riding? I’m trying to get a bit better at making time for my own horses, rather than them always coming second to everything else!

I did ride yesterday, but it was also nice to spend some time with them in the afternoon without rushing off to the next thing. Sometimes it’s just nice to hang out with them and enjoy them outside of training! 🐓

Wish me luck as I make a start on the second block of stables! This one is definitely a much bigger job… the roofs are literally falling in, so there’s plenty to do!

A little yard update…

I haven’t had many updates to share recently, mainly because there honestly hasn’t been a huge amount happening! Between work, life and the time (and budget!) needed for some of the bigger jobs, things have been happening a little more slowly than I’d originally hoped.

But we’re getting there, one job at a time. Sometimes it’s the smaller things that make the biggest difference, and getting some paint on the stables has already made the place feel so much fresher.

The next big job on the list is new roofs for the stables, which will make a huge difference. Not least because I’m fairly sure the horses would appreciate the novel experience of being able to stand in their stables without getting rained on!

There’s still plenty I want to do, and lots of ideas for how I’d like the yard to develop. The aim is to eventually turn it into something really lovely and functional for everyone — horses, clients and humans alike.

One of the things I pride myself on most in my coaching is being there for my clients throughout their journey — whatever that journey may look like.

For me, coaching isn’t just about what happens during your lesson. It’s about getting to know you and your horse, understanding your goals and challenges, celebrating the little wins, and helping you work through the less straightforward days too.

Every horse and rider combination is different, and I really believe that good coaching should meet you where you are, rather than trying to fit you into a particular mould. My aim is always to create a supportive, positive environment where you feel listened to, understood and confident to keep learning.

So reading feedback like this means a huge amount to me. Knowing that my clients feel supported, not just as riders but as people, is exactly what I hope to achieve.

If you’d like to know a little more about my approach to coaching, or think I might be the right fit for you and your horse, please get in touch.
