Grimsby Girls Futsal

Meggies returned to action this sunday after not playing a game since mid december. Finally we played Bardney Panthers in the invitation cup after it was postponed twice already due to frozen pitches.

The game started slow and scrappy as expected with so long without playing but the team soon got into their stride and took the lead when jenson crossed for kienan to finish from close range. Ryley doubled the lead when a brilliant corner from olly fell straight to him. 2-0 halftime.

Second half the team had blown the cobwebs off and dominated the game creating chance after chance but Bardneys goalkeeper made some great saves. The game finished 5-0 with goals from archie scoring from inside the box, kienan with a brilliant lob from long range and ralphy with a wonderful flicked header from the edge of the area.

A really good performance after a long lay off and the team have started this year the way they finished last year.

Oscar- a brilliant performance at left back, won every tackle, every header, composed on the ball and bombed forward to help set up attacks.

Theo- another composed performance from our holding midfielder. Protected the defence and showed great footwork and passing whilst moving forward with the ball.

A special mention for Olly who played right wing, he was a constant threat attacking the opposition fullback and his dangerous crosses and corners deserved more goals.

We were lucky enough to have DG ProView down at the match to take photos of the game, we would highly recommend teams to do the same. Although we had thick fog during the game the pictures turned out great.

Next week the team are back in league action playing Louth Town at home 10.30 KO, hoping to avenge our only defeat in 2025

After 4 weeks away because of school holidays and construction works at the school, girls futsal is finally back tonight with 3 games.

Friday was the last girls futsal for 3 weeks but we finished with some great games.

Clee Lionesses drew 1-1 with MEH Girls, it was end to end with plenty of action in each goal.

Clee Rats beat Futsal Allstars 4-1, a few of the girls knew each other and it was a great game full of laughs.

Sadly Clee U13’s had to cancel last minute for unforeseen circumstances so AFC Gold were awarded a 5-0 win

Game of the night was AFC Blue’s 5-2 win against Healing Hotspurs. Another end to end game of high quality, if healing could of scored the chances they created it would of finished much closer. The game capped off with AFC Blue scoring a wonder goal flying into the top corner from virtually the halfway line.

Below are Healing Hotspurs wearing their new Futsal kit. The girls look great, and they christened it with a great performance.

A 3 week break now for school holidays, the girls will return 25th April to finish off the league before the summer break. We hope all the girls, parents, coaches and referees enjoy their spring break.

Only 3 games last week in the girls futsal league as a couple of teams were unavailable but it still provided some good action.

AFC Blue avenged the 2-1 loss to Clee Lionesses the previous week with an emphatic 8-2 win.

MEH Girls carried on their good form with another win against Futsal Allstars 4-1

Game of the night was a meeting between first and second in the league, AFC Gold and Clee Rats. Both unbeaten before this game AFC Gold ran out 4-1 winners. Clee started slowly and AFC took a 3-0 lead in the first 5 minutes, clee got themselves back into the game with a goal before halftime, but AFC scored early in the second half to take the 3 points.

The game was much closer than the scoreline suggested and the quality from both teams showed why they are first and second in the league. The early start and clinical finishing from AFC Gold was the difference on the night and they deservedly take top spot in the league.

With all the teams available friday we’ll have a full set of fixtures before a 3 week break because of school holidays and bank holidays.

Week 6 in the Girls futsal League tonight and a top of the table clash between AFC Gold and Clee Rats. Both teams are unbeaten so far and face each other for the first time.

With Clee U13’s and Healing Hotspurs missing this week we have a repeat of 2 of last weeks fixtures, a closely contested game between AFC Blue and Clee Lionesses, and a good win for MEH Girls against Futsal Allstars

Another high quality night of girls futsal friday. 3 close games and another good win for AFC Gold.

The Futsal 5 team put in another good performance, the girls improve every week and are starting to gel as a team, they narrowly lost to Clee U13’s 2-0.

AFC Gold carried on their good form with a 10-2 win against MEH Girls.

Clee Town Lionesses drew 5-5 after leading 3-0 and 5-3 but Healing Hotspurs never gave up and levelled the game twice 3-3 and 5-5.

Game of the night was AFC Blue VS Clee Town Rats. A very even game with both teams displaying high quality passing and attacking. AFC Blue leading 3-0 at half time but a good fightback second half saw Clee Rats win the game 4-3, scoring the winner with a couple of minutes to go. The quality on show from both teams was a real advert for girls futsal.

Four good games of futsal friday night finishing with three big wins and a very tight draw.

AFC Gold and Blue played each other with Gold winning 6-0

Clee Town Rats played against Clee U13’s with Clee Rats winning 5-0

Both AFC Gold and Clee Rats topping the table with 3 wins out of 3.

Clee Lionesses put in a brilliant performance and their best in the league so far with a 7-1 win against MEH Girls. Some brilliant goals in this game, including a half way line goal from the Lionesses.

Game of the night was the Futsal 5’s 2-2 draw with Healing Hotspurs. The futsal 5 have only played 1 game together previously and they put in a great performance coming from 1-0 down to lead 2-1. Then with a freekick in the last seconds Healing managed to grab an equaliser. Both teams played really well and a draw was a fair result in the end.
