Boston 3–3 Cleethorpes Ladies

What a comeback from Cleethorpes Ladies!

The game looked to be slipping away in the first half, with Boston going into the break 3–1 up. Despite the scoreline, Cleethorpes had dominated possession, seeing around 90% of the ball and creating plenty of pressure.

The second half was a completely different story on the scoreboard as Cleethorpes continued to push forward and were finally rewarded for their dominance.

Meg Green, Isla and Abi all found the back of the net as Clee fought their way back into the game, eventually bringing the score level at 3–3.

It was a brilliant display of determination and belief from the Cleethorpes girls. To be 3–1 down at half-time and come back to earn a draw shows just how much character this team has.

With Cleethorpes controlling the majority of the game and creating chance after chance, they will probably feel they deserved even more from the match — but coming back from two goals down to secure a point is a fantastic achievement.

Full-time: Boston 3–3 Cleethorpes Ladies ⚽️💙

Wasn’t to be for us today, disappointed with the result as I believe we deserved to come away with something but that’s the way football goes sometimes. I could say huge credits for all of our girls today, but our POTM today goes to Eleisha. Not only playing in an unfamiliar position, but communicating, listening, coming out to win and receive the ball and play the correct passes with composure. Heading was unreal. Covering was phenomenal. Speed and strength was everything so a massive well done.

We continue the hard work into our first local derby of the season next week vs Boro! UTO 🦉💪🏻
