Just want to say how impressed I am with the way you guys are managing the Fitness Suite during these tough times.
On arrival, we are greeted by our masked trainer and our temperature is taken - we're only allowed in if the thermometer goes green! We're then asked to sanitise our hands. There are many plastic hygiene boxes with hand sanitiser, anti bac spray, wipes and cloths around the building, so without fail, all equipment is wiped down thoroughly after each use. As there are three training areas, there is only ever one client and their trainer in any one of them, with ample room to social distance.
The standard of training continues, as pre Covid, second to none. The support, encouragement and praise is as it always was!
So anyone thinking of joining TFS but were concerned about any Covid restrictions, don't worry, every detail has been thought through and you will certainly be as safe as you can be anywhere outside your own home.
I have lost over 6% body fat over a 10-week block of training sessions with Chris. It's not just what they do, it's how they do it.

On that first day last December, he told me I had to run if I wanted to lose weight. I hate running. I used to hate running.... at the end of March I ran my first 5k race and have since done two park runs.

I have completely changed how I look at weight, health and fitness now, thanks to the approach that Chris has encouraged me to take. For the first time (and I'm 52) I really believe that I will reach my health and fitness goals. I never had that level of self-belief before and I absolutely wouldn't be on this path without Chris.

As well as devising a bespoke training plan for me, he understands the blocks I've put in place previously against reaching my goals and shown me how to dismantle them.

Nobody has ever helped me so much in the area of health and fitness, so thank you Chris. And watch this space, cos I'll be back, showing off what I've achieved and giving you some more photos for your promo material! X

We are conditioned to begin a fresh start on Mondays. If Monday rolls around and youโ€™re tired and the stress and obligations of the day get in the way and that pre-planned workout and gung-ho attitude gets pushed to the back burner!!!!

The odds are good that Tuesday isnโ€™t going to happen either. And if Tuesday doesnโ€™t happen, you can rule out Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Then why start on the weekend?

Just wait until Monday comes around again, right?

Stay consistent, stay accountable!

The eccentric phase of a lift is incredibly important. Here you can see Kevin lowering the weight almost three times as slowly as pushing it.

Research has shown that when you lengthen the muscle eccentrically, you can increase protein synthesis more than a concentric contraction. Why is this the case? Essentially, scientists have discovered in recent years that eccentric contractions release a chemical called phosphatidic acid, which encourages protein synthesis.

Muscle growth is directly linked to protein synthesis and youโ€™ll often hear trainers discuss how the eccentric component in the lift is key to building said muscle.

Recently theyโ€™ve also discovered that the eccentric phase is also quintessential to recruiting satellite cells. Again super important if youโ€™ve plateaued in your training but thatโ€™s a whole new topic.
