🔜 Next up, we welcome Llay reserves to Brynford in what will be another tough test for the lads.

We currently sit 20th in the last play off position and know we need points on the board if we want to progress through the league phase.

Come down and support the lads on Saturday as we look to climb the table in our penultimate NEWFA trophy game⚫️⚪️

❌ Game day ❌

🙅🏻‍♂️ With there being no game today for the men’s team, it’s a good chance to look ahead at the next few weeks as we approach our first campaign in NEWFA Division 3 at the end of the month.

We currently have 2 games left of the NEWFA trophy which will see us host Llay Reserves next Saturday followed by a trip to Deeside Dragons to finish off ⚽️

The lads currently sit 20th in the last play off space so they know they’ll need points on the board if they want to get through the league phase and into the knockouts 🏆

Our first 5 fixtures in the league have been confirmed starting with a home game against Johnstown on the 26th September ⚫️⚪️

💰 LAST MAN STANDING

Our LMS was won yesterday with the winner scooping a big £270.

We will be starting a new one this Friday. With just a £10 entry, you will be helping support a local football club and putting yourself in with a chance of winning big!

Rules are simple, pick 1 premier league team to win from a week of fixtures. If your team wins, you go through. If your team draws/loses, you’re out.
You also can’t pick the same team twice.

This continues until we’re down to the last entrant who will take home the prize pot 💸

⚽️ Defeat for Halkyn.

Unfortunately this afternoon the lads come up short against a Brickfield Reserve side who maintain their 100% record in the competition.

Despite a bright start, Halkyn were up against it just 5 minutes in when the referee correctly awarded Brickfield a penalty and a great chance to go ahead. Their number 10 cooly converted and left Halkyn chasing the equaliser for the rest of the first half.
Halkyn had numerous half chances to put themselves back into the game however couldn’t convert. 1-0 at HT.

Second half began and Brickfield doubled their lead when their 9 ran onto a through ball and calmly slotted past Scott Craig.
Halkyn continued to rally to get back into the game and Owen Edwards got on the end of a Bran Jones corner in the 84th minute to give us a chance.
Halkyn had a penalty shout 2 minutes later when a free kick was blocked by the wall however the referee waved away the handball shout.

Brickfield went down the other end on the counter attack in the 90th minute and killed off any hope of a result with their 3rd. Securing their 100% record and left Halkyn feeling on the wrong side of a close game.

All the best to Brickfield for the rest of the campaign and Halkyn have 2 games left to try and secure their place in the next round, starting with hosting Llay reserves in 2 weeks.

This afternoon we make the trip to Clywedog Park to face Brickfield Reserves. Brickfield currently have a 100% record in the NEWFA Trophy so it’s going to be a tough test for the lads as we look to get more points on the board.

🔜 This weekend, Halkyn United head to Wrexham as we face Brickfield Reserves in what will be a tough test in Matchday 4 of the NEWFA trophy.

Brickfield currently sit top of the table at the halfway stage with 3 wins from their 3 games. We will be looking to climb further up the table after our first victory against Caerwys. We currently sit 16th and in the play off positions with 3 games to play.

Any travelling support to Clywedog Park would be greatly appreciated ⚫️⚪️
