The HCJGFL would like to send its condolences and love to the friends and family of Matt Beard, who sadly passed away yesterday.
'Beardy' was an advocate and big voice for the Women's game, but a hugely respected manager too, having led Liverpool FC Women to consecutive WSL titles.

Today, Scotton Scorchers U14s hosted a 3 team 9v9 mini tournament that would allow girls to just play!
Two mixed teams of Scotton U13s/U14s Girls and we welcomed Burley U14s Girls.
The aim - just play!
Using newly qualified Youth Referees Louis, George and Cora (who played for Burley too).
No pressure of winning, no points, no goal difference or League tables!
As it should be, it was about the girls playing the game they love!
Some incredible passing, shooting, defending and counter-attacking from all teams đź‘Ź
We are proud of all players for showing why they love the game!
Well done everyone and have a great summer!!
The girls were treated to lots of cakes, snacks, hot dogs afterwards kindly provided by the Scotton parents.

All of us at the HCJGFLare deeply sorry to hear about the loss of this young girl, who dreamed of being a footballer.
Our hearts go out to her family, friends, and everyone who is affected by this heart breaking tragedy.
In honour of her memory, we kindly ask that teams participate in a minute's silence at all games this weekend. May she rest in peace.
