Les Enfants Terribles

Thanks to all who managed to drag themselves upwards into an en guard position on Sunday after , your fortitude does you credit Gentlemen!

A reminder that although the indomitable Mark Round is out for the following week for Hemac Dijon, the elegant yet formidable Alan Pickering will continue presenting the Les Enfants class on Sunday morning 11:30 until 12:30, with sparring to follow until 2:30, all welcome, with no prior Smallsword experience required*

*but bring a mask, light gloves and HEMA/FIE jacket

We are pleased to announce that Les Enfants will be presenting Smallsword in all its glory at the inaugural Steel Britannia event in the Midlands on the 9th May.

Late post but some of us have been busy man. Tomorrow is the first date class will be back on for 2026 and we will be looking at some things I found while re-reading Angelo that are worth a mention.

Also by popular request (Luke) We’ll break Angelo’s formal salute down into its component parts and see what’s going on.

As we look forward to the imminent arrival of 2026, we would like to wish a Happy New Year to all Smallsword fencers who have trained with us in 2025, and distant others who follow us online.
We plan to continue with the current class at Kingsbury for the coming year, and we also have the Steel Britannia event in May to look forward to in association with the Midlands Hema Alliance.

Until then, Happy New Year from Les Enfants Terribles, and may all your obstacles be met with a smile and a vigorous riposte.

Expect further mayhem as we examine what Angelo has to say about Smallsword versus two points, and how to avoid embarrassment.
