It’s with great sadness that we have to announce that our very our number 5 and former captain Shona has decided to hang her boots up 😭.

Her service to the team over the seasons she has played for Welly every tackle every 50/50 which is why she picks up so many knocks, she is 100% committed to Welly. Her overall service to the sport which she also continues through her coaching.
She won players player in the 23/24 season. She won club woman of the year 24/25 season and the 2 awards she won yesterday for the 25/26 season. I think sums up what an amazing player and person she is.
All of us at Welly Ladies are going to Miss you dearly but we wish you good luck and remember they will always be place on the pitch for you.

Sorry it’s been awhile 🤣🤦‍♀️, we have been having a well earned break but back to business.

Yesterday our beautiful ladies (and coaches ) held their annual end of season BBQ. Thank you so much Phil and Shona for hosting this year.

We would like to start by thanking our wonderful volunteers who at every Sunday home game open our Hut and serve hot and cold drinks and snacks, we really do appreciate all you do so thank you so much.

Congratulations to (so sorry Amy this isn’t you 🤣🤦‍♀️) Millie on receiving Top goal scorer this season (although it was said she missed more than she scored 🤣🤣🤦‍♀️)

Congratulations to Phoebe E-P who was awarded Players Player, it can’t have been easy joining this season as a newbie and becoming Captain but you led the team well and it has proved that with this award.

Congratulations to our very own number 5 Shona who was awarded not only supporters player but also managers player.
What a season she has had always kept everyone’s spirits up (even when she played chicken with the ball and guided it into the back of her own net 🤣) she was also ruthless on the ball when needed and her head took some hits also. we would also like to congratulate her on having a full season without any own goals🤣.

We would like to thank Gemma for Stepping up in goal also again this season. And thank you to everyone who also had a turn in goal when she was sunning herself and playing out field.

Lastly Thank you to Joner,Phil and Cris without you this team wouldn’t be where they are today finishing 2nd in the league and Runners up in the Ross Invitational cup what a season you and the ladies have had.

After today’s final game of the 25/26 season for
Our ladies seen them win 8-0 against Tenbury (report to come soon) sees our ladies finish the season in 2nd place.

Massive well done to each and everyone of you who has played this season. And thank you to the coaches and all our supporters.

It was an unfortunate defeat today.
