Menopause… the latest marketing goldmine?
A friend sent me this picture the other day and it made me feel really cross!
At what point did normal products suddenly need a menopause label attached to them?
Yes, menopause can bring changes to our skin.
Dryness, sensitivity, itching and irritation can be common.
But what concerns me is how often women are being told they need an entirely new collection of products the moment they reach a certain age.
And funnily enough a lot of these products are ‘researched’ and ‘marketed’ by the pharmaceutical companies themselves 🤔
It’s no coincidence that many of these products come with a higher price tag for the privilege is it!
I sought advice from beauty and skincare specialist Remi budd (see second slide)
I’m not saying all menopause specific products are bad.
Some may be genuinely helpful.
But it’s worth asking:
🌟Is this product actually different?
🌟Is there evidence behind the claims?
🌟Or is the word menopause being used to make you ‘feel like you need to’ buy something else?
Your bank account will likely thank you for it 😉
I’d love to know your thoughts… have you found any menopause branded products that were genuinely worth it?
Or do you think the industry is getting a little carried away? 👇💗

You’re a successful woman… you have excelled in your career and juggled all sorts in terms of home, family, friends, responsibilities.
But all of a sudden these waves of anxiety start hitting you… you’re unsettled, racing heart, that ‘feeling’ in your stomach.
They come from nowhere and leave you doubting absolutely everything… particularly your ability to do your job.
But you power through quietly… because that’s just what you do.
Yep, that’s me this morning 🙋🏻♀️
Let’s not keep suffering in silence ladies… 💗
Who can relate?

There are quite a few things about perimenopause that I could happily do without! 🤣
The complete loss of words.
The emotions
The extreme fatigue.
Insert ‘most challenging symptoms’ here….!
But there’s one thing I actually love about this stage of life, it’s the clarity.
I’m much clearer on what and who I want in my life.
My circle is smaller these days, and filled with a lot less people pleasing!
I only have energy for the people that matter.
So on that note, and on International Best Friends Day… I’m taking this moment to celebrate my bestie ❤️
She’s been with me through the highs and supported me through many lows and I will always be forever grateful for her 🥰
Tag your bestie below and show them some love.
We all need those people who make life that little bit easier, funnier and more enjoyable ❤️
Ps wayyyyyyy wayyyyyyy too many photos to choose from!!!! 🤣

🌟Weekly round up 🌟
So… went into my phone to prepare the standard weekly round up to realise… that apparently I took no photos this week! 🤦🏻♀️🤯
Epic fail! So here are the boys instead 💙😻💙
Looking through the calendar… it seems that mostly it’s been work, work and more work!
The challenges of running your own business!
☑️ Admin
☑️ New gym role (yep you read that right!)
☑️ Client reviews
☑️ Client check ins
☑️ Networking (I’m buzzing for opportunities that are coming from this!)
☑️ A lovely Sunday community call with my clients talking about supplements
What was your ‘best bit’ this week? # # #

🏋️♀️ Could lifting weights help you live longer? 🏋🏻♀️
As discussed on both BBC and ITV breakfast shows yesterday morning…
New research suggests the answer might be YES.
Just 90-120 minutes of strength training per week was linked to…
🌟 13% lower risk of premature death
🌟 19% lower risk of dying from heart disease
🌟 27% lower risk of dying from neurological diseases such as dementia
Research showed that the biggest benefits came from combining strength training with regular cardio exercise.
Strength training isn’t just about building muscle.
It helps maintain bone density, supports healthy ageing, improves mobility, and can help you stay independent for longer.
This is especially true for women as they go through the stages of menopause where sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass) and osteoporosis are of a higher risk.
If this has been the sign you needed to get started but you’re not sure how to go about it, then pop me a message saying STRENGTH and I’ll help you out # # #
