Cardio will ruin my progress with weights ❌
Cardio can only be done in the gym ❌
You have to be fit to do cardio ❌

Cardio helps to improve overall recovery, increases energy levels and improves overall lung and heart function ✅

Cardio can be as simple as going for a long distance walk, run, cycle, etc you don’t need a gym ✅

You get fitter by doing cardio ✅

As all things health and fitness (and in life) everything has its place (context!! 🧠)

The picture purely represents one of my daily habits (slightly endorsed through various posts by and his brutal, but truthful outtake on this subject) which is to ensure I complete at least 30 minutes of steady state cardio to aid my recovery, keep me energised and also ensure I move, as there are days where I spend long periods at my desk.

Movement is medicine and to gain energy, you have to create it, it won’t just come out of thin air!

Small clip of me re-introducing Olympic lifts into my training. Haven’t committed to this for a good couple of years.

Like most, found myself doing similar things in the gym with no real direction. With these there are no hiding places, one little cue off, one little movement out of place and the whole move breaks down. This will really help with focus in the sessions and hopefully transfer to other areas of my training 🙌

Your mind will always be the thing that fatigues first, it will always be the first to give in, which then will leave you feeling physically tired.

I am a massive advocate in trying to build resilience, to try and seek an opportunity in all situations. No matter how bad a day may feel, how bad a situation that occurs may seem, there is something to gain, or something to be learnt.

99% of the time it is you vs you, and when there are obstacles, you just have to see or work past them to realise it’s down to you, your mindset and how you react to those situations.

The last outing with the troopers!

Just over a month has passed since the final dirty weekender. Some of these have completed every obstacle event since I set the team up over 5.5 years ago.

Many hours of training, tantrums and triumphs..

Great last event and a constant reminder of why I do what I do, bringing all people of all abilities together to watch them conquer their fears and to push their limits.

Client highlight!! One of longest standing clients here with me! She is one of the most committed, loyal people I have trained. Takes every challenge head on, doesn’t complain, listens, and more importantly, we have developed a working relationship to ensure we get the best out of one another! Your clients reflect your business and your vision, without them, it’s just a job!

Here’s story!

“I started training with Jamie in January 2016 since I wanted to get fit to do a 5-hour hike, climbing out of the Grand Canyon. He helped me set goals and milestones, and trained me so successfully that I did it in 3 hours! After that, Jamie focused on improving my strength and building my muscle mass, and I was happy with the improvement in my body shape. Then, for the past two years Jamie has helped me focus on a tailored program for toning and weight loss, and we upped the training sessions to twice a week to focus on different muscle groups. I’m delighted with the results and feel like a transformed person. I’m going to continue training with Jamie since I feel that he helps me set clear objectives which are not only realistic, but also give long-lasting effects.”

Meet my client

Joined the fitness experts just under 2 years ago. Originally we set the notion of her just getting into bootcamps and enjoying training, as she had lost her “mojo” and love for training.

Roll forward to lockdown- Jo took it upon herself to take that extra step with her training, nutrition and accountability.

What has she done??
- ONLY 2 of sessions a month with me

- Daily she tracks her food, sends it to me for guidance and accountability.

- Has become aware of the quality the calorie possesses, and makes conscious, better decisions on a consistent basis.

- Mixes her bootcamp sessions between strength and cardio for variation.

As you can see a massive amount of fat loss, has lost over 22 inches since June (again during lockdown!) and is now down to a size 16 from 22.

Even in the hardest of times, we can still take control, make better choices and seek opportunities!

Amazingly this is just the start, but what a change, she really has done so well!

Just a little shout out to one of my recent additions. At the beginning of July he contacted me about continued pains in his knees, feeling unhealthy, but more importantly his “pinch point” was his kids. Feeling he wasn’t doing enough to be a positive role model in their lives when it came to health and nutrition.

We move to today, where he has found himself dropping just over 10kgs in fat. Less pains in his knees, consciously making better choices with food, and generally happier about himself, his appearance, his mindset and how he portrays himself to his kids.

What has he done??
- Conscious decisions when cooking
- Less sauces- more spices
- Only pts 3 times a month with me
- Has taken up walking
- More involved with his cooking and choosing more nutritiously dense products.

Bear in mind he checks in with me daily and only trains 3 times a month 1:1, all the steps he has taken have massively improved his life- without feeling suffocated by food choices or “boring” routines.

Scary thing is- this is only the beginning 🔥🔥

Humans are amazing when they apply themselves in the right way and seek the positive pathways!
