Last month we celebrated 2 years of our conscious dance and movement community. Here's just a few of the lovely thoughts of people that have come in that time (from Google).
NB, photos are changed as I keep people's faces private so people feel comfortable to dance; that's why most pics are of me dancing or an AI image as in the logo.

Maybe you want to find some exercise you actually love doing, to move to music that inspires you, to get out of the house and see other humans, connect when you don't know what to say, to dance without steps to learn or try something scary without alcohol for the first time.
Maybe it's to come back to yourself and have a little space to breathe and remember who YOU are.
For many of us we didn't know that what we actually came was the bit after the dance when we sit in the magic and look at each other with a deep sense of peace and connection that we didnt even know was possible.
These are just some of the reasons we dance. You are welcome to bring yours. It's our last dance of the year this Thursday and we'd love you to come.

It's been a crazy month. I got a great new part time job, started counselling training, and I took over teaching a course to train counsellors on my own for the first time. I've spent far too many hours working frantically on my laptop early starts and late nights and that will continue. On top of that my car was written off last week but that will be fixed in time. Clearly the universe was trying to slow me down a bit!
But tonight I walked to my venue (thanks to the incredible David Marshall) carrying lights, laptop and speaker! And this is my face watching the dancers do their dance, in the zone, to the music I curate.
I needed the dance to move my body and let go of the tension and feel the joy. I just love watching, holding the space. It feels like what I was born to do. And when we all stop dancing and sit in the ensuing silence, there are no words needed.

Maybe you need a bit exercise or to see other humans, or to try something different. Maybe you need space to remember who you are or love a dance around the kitchen.
Perhaps, like me you've had a stressful and hectic few weeks and know that a dance around with no small talk and no-one to please will bring your soul alive and bring you back to life (or at least get you out of the house!).
Tomorrow we dance, move, rest, lie, sit to music. It's your time and there's no real rules be respectful and take care of you and others, no chat, no devices, no stimulants, no steps.
Come dance your dance.
Take your time, hurry up, the choice is yours, don't be late....a great philosopher once sang...Come as you are.

ps. this is my after dance...I turned up stressed and exhausted and this is the face I left with. Not just me, we all leave GLOWING and at peace. It's magic.

I can't tell you how joyful it was this week to dig out an old tune from so many years ago [Last Train to Llasa]. The literal sound of being taken on a journey somewhere far, far away.
Very symbolic for our conscious dance as it does take us somewhere so different. At the end of every dance we sit down and it's like people landing from another place - there's just silence and stillness.
Nobody wants to speak and break the magic and step out from that magical place. Usually all that is eventually said is thank you.
Thank you and thank you to my community of dancers who keep showing up and thank you to me for trusting and showing up to hold the dance each month.

πΏ Feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your head, or craving real connection?
Your body might be asking you to dance.
Tomorrow, we move. Not to perform. Not to impress.
But to shake off stress, reconnect with ourselves and come back to joy.
β¨ This is conscious dance β where there's no right way to move.
Just your breath, your body, your rhythm, your truth.
We create a safe, welcoming space for you to explore your own movement, at your own pace.
Whether youβre holding tension, riding waves of emotion, or just needing to feel alive again β come as you are.
Leave feeling lighter, clearer and more connected.
