Hitchin School of Dance (formerly The Granville School of Dance) has been running classes in Hitchin for over 70 years so feel honoured to be able to represent this fabulous town

⭐️Puttin’ on the Glitz 2026⭐️

We are well and truly post show, but looking back on these amazing photographs by makes us want to do it all again! (all four times!)

I am so incredibly proud of every single dancer who went on that stage and showed the audience just how much they love to dance.

We had dancers from our littlest, cutest crocodiles aged three, up to our fabulous adult ballet & tap dancers and everyone shone 🌟

A big thank you has to go to my teachers who tirelessly worked on cutting music, choreographing, sorting formations, (…changing formations), their constant support and for all of their help and expertise back stage.

Thank you to everyone involved in this show. From lighting & sound, to photos, to videography, to quick changes, to props to helping backstage, to sending words of support and encouragement, to signing in…it’s a big ol’ task putting on a show like that, but it simply cannot be done with out a team behind it.

The HSD team 💙🖤 Teaching over 40 classes a week.

This isn’t just a turn up and teach kind of job.

The amount of time that goes into planning each lesson is huge. Time spent on prep, training, choreography & finding music happens before they even turn up to the studio.

These ladies make every single class a fun and enjoyable space to dance, learn & develop. A positive place for students to be themselves, they push them to be the best they can be, but above all, share their love of dance & teaching with the students.

I am very luck to have these fab teachers at HSD.

🎉1 Year at HSD Studios🎉

It’s been a whole year since we officially opened the doors to our new studios.

I wanted to create a space where students can learn, socialise and look forward to coming to each week.

A space that is always filled with laughter, positivity and a shared love for dancing.

A space that is not just “mine”, but is a space for our dancers, families and teachers too.

A space for dancing, improving, developing and always being yourself.

A space with mirror balls and disco lights 🪩

I have learnt a lot about running a business during the past year, and I sure will keep on learning, improving and pushing HSD to be the best it can possibly be.

This is has been an amazing year for HSD and I am super proud of what we have achieved.

6 years ago, a week before a national lockdown, your childhood dance teacher will offer you the opportunity to take over the dance school you’ve danced at since you were 6….it’s very important you say YES!

New Year, New Dance Class?

At HSD, we have adult classes in Ballet, Tap & Jazz. In fully equipped dance studios, our classes are relaxed and enjoyable, where we welcome questions and conversations (dance and non-dance related!)

Our classes will help to improve your balance, co-ordination, posture, flexibility, strength & technique. We work hard but do have lots of fun along the way.
