FT | Horley Casuals FC 5 – 2 Alexandra United FC Whites ⚽💙

THE CASUALS WIN!!!

Club history was made on Sunday, after a painful pre-season and start to Sunday League football, suffering some horrid results, Horley Casuals picked up their first ever competitive league victory with a 5-2 win over (Whites) at home!

The team fell 2 goals down in the first half, and it looked as though the problems that have haunted us throughout the summer and into the start of this season were going to continue.

But some great tactical changes, and the introduction of new and returning players, turned the game in the Casuals' favour, and the team went on to pull 2 goals back to level it up at the break.

A comfortable second half performance then followed, and the boys put in a cracking team effort, scoring three more unanswered second half goals, securing the first ever 3 point for the club.

A brace from our returning striker and co-MOTM .sm.16, who also bagged himself 2 assists. A brace for our young attacker . And a goal from key playmaker , who bagged an assist as well, rounded out a thoroughly deserved victory!

A big shoutout to co-MOTM who ran the show, picking up an assist himself, and also our returning attacker who has been out for several months with a broken wrist, but returned on Sunday, maintaining a 100% win record when he is in the team!

The Casuals will be looking to put the steep learning curve of Sunday League football behind us now, and will be focused on kickstarting our season from here!

A HUGE congratulations to all the boys on overcoming great adversity to bring this win home!

FT | Horley Casuals FC 1 – 9 Morden United FC ⚽💙

After a complete write-off of a season opener in Matchday 1, where unavailability really impacted the Casuals' ability to compete against , who ran out deserved winners and proved to be a class above, HCFC were back in home action in Matchweek 2, this time against .

A close first half, where the Casuals went into the break 3-1 down, was followed up by 2 quick goals from Morden in the second half, who were able to put their foot on the gas and ultimately cruised to a comfortable 9-1 victory.

Despite the defeat, there were definite signs of improvement by the Casuals, particularly in the first 45, and the game will forever be remembered for the first ever competitive league goal scored by the team.

A slick interception by our goalscorer , who went on a commanding run up the pitch, and teamed up nicely with who registered the assist, lead to the Casuals first ever league goal!

It's been a tough start to Sunday League football for the Casuals, but the team will ride these rocky waves, stick together and go again.

Next up, we travel to Warlingham, for our first away game of the LDSFL Div 5 East season, against this coming Sunday!

FT | Coulsdon Celtics FC 7 – 0 Horley Casuals FC ⚽💙

It was another tough morning this past Sunday in our penultimate pre-season fixture of the summer, as the Casuals fell to a 7-0 defeat to a far superior Coulsdon Celtics side.

To blame the result on a thin squad would be a disservice to Coulsdon, who ran out comfortable winners from the opening whistle and fully deserved the victory. The Casuals were sadly just not at the races on the day.

With just 10 days to go until the start of our 26/27 league campaign, and an opening day return fixture, this time at home, against Coulsdon Celtics to come, much improvement is needed in our final pre-season match this Sunday, where we will be playing on our home pitch of Court Lodge Fields for the very first time!

⚽💙PRE-SEASON DOUBLE HEADER RESULTS!⚽💙

FT | Horley Casuals FC 3 – 5 Horley AFC Reserves

The Casuals faced two very accomplished opponents this week, starting with Horley AFC Reserves on Sunday 9th August.

After competing well and spending large parts of the first half in control, we conceded 3 goals towards half time, but the boys picked themselves up and were able to pull 3 goals back in the second half, before conceding late on to fall to a 5-3 defeat to Horley AFC Reserves.

Sunday marked a really positive performance from the team, and on another day, the result may have gone our way.

A special shout out to our goalscorers & .08, along with a MOTM performance from Kim Leon!

FT | Royal Earlswood FC 7 – 2 Horley Casuals FC

Our attention then turned to a mid-week clash away against Royal Earlswood FC on a hot and humid Wednesday evening.

After taking the lead in the early stages of the match, a back and forth first half had us go into the break even at 2-2. The heat then got to us, and after picking up several knocks and sore legs, Royal Earlswood took control of the game and came out 7-2 winner in the end.

Another shoutout to our two goalscorers on the night, .sm.16 & .

It has been a tough run of defeats of late, but a valuable run of games we have and will continue to learn a lot from, as we prepare ourselves for the start of our 26/27 Sunday League campaign in just over 2 weeks!

💙⚽ PRE-SEASON CONTINUES! 💙⚽

The Casuals continue our pre-season preparations this Sunday with a very tough game against our neighbours at Oakwood Sports Centre.

FT | Horley Casuals FC 4 – 9 Langley Green Tigers FC ⚽💙

Our pre-season campaign continued on Sunday with another disappointing defeat, as we fell 9-4 to Langley Green Tigers in the inaugural Cross County Cup.

After a competitive first half, we went into the break with a 4-3 lead and were pleased with much of our attacking play. However, a combination of the hot conditions, a vastly improved Langley Green Tigers side and too many defensive team errors saw the momentum swing completely after half-time, with our visitors scoring six unanswered goals to deservedly lift the trophy at full time.

Congratulations to everyone at on a well-deserved victory, and a huge thankyou to .firm._official for their fantastic effort in creating the Cross County Cup, providing the trophy, medals and media coverage to make the occasion something very special for everyone involved.

Whilst the result is disappointing, pre-season is about identifying areas to improve before the league campaign begins, and Sunday's game certainly gave us plenty to continue to work on in the coming weeks.

Pre-season continues to roll on, and our attention now turns to our next friendly, somewhat of a local derby against 💙🤍

🏆 NEXT UP - THE 2026 CROSS COUNTY CUP 🏆

The Casuals' pre-season preparations continue on Sunday 2nd August as we welcome Langley Green Tigers FC back to Horley for the inaugural Cross County Cup!

Following our victory over Langley Green Tigers back in February, both clubs have developed a fantastic relationship both on and off the pitch.

Together, we've decided to make this fixture something a little more special.

With Horley Casuals representing Surrey and Langley Green Tigers representing Sussex, we're proud to introduce the Cross County Cup, a friendly trophy that we hope will become an annual/twice-annual fixture between our two clubs, celebrating competitive football, mutual respect and the great relationship we've built.

We can't wait to welcome our friends from back to Horley for what promises to be another competitive and enjoyable game of football.

FT | Morden United FC 8 – 0 Horley Casuals FC ⚽💙

It was a difficult experience for the Casuals on Sunday morning against a very impressive Morden United side, but exactly the sort of challenge pre-season is designed for.

It was a tough game from the opening whistle, and with several squad members unavailable, Morden United earned every goal they scored and came out deserved victors.

After a tough opening 45 minutes, the lads showed great character in the second half, settling into the game, creating several good chances of our own and competing much more effectively against one of our divisional opponents next season.

There are plenty of lessons to take away, particularly in our defensive shape and discipline, but these are exactly the areas we'll continue working on together in training over the coming weeks.
