Havering Scuba Divers
The club was formed and joined BSAC in 1981. We have a number of BSAC nationally qualified instructors and teach according to the BSAC diver training programme.
If you want to learn to dive in a friendly environment this in the place to come to. The club organises a variety of dives each year from day dives to week long diving trips (we have recently visited the Farne Islands to dive with the seals and Scapa Flow to dive on the historic First World War German Fleet). Most of the club's dives are in UK coastal waters, although we do travel abroad on a regu
It is with huge regret that we must announce the death of our Chairman, long standing member and great friend Mark Smoothy. Mark's funeral will be held at the church in Havering atte Bower on 2 February 2015. Our thoughts are with his family.
Toby and Pete just spent a lovely day at Wraysbury where Toby completed his first Ocean Diver open water dives. The sun was shining and the air temperature hit about 7 degrees. The water temperature hit a huge 10! We managed 3 dives covering all the basics plus more and it all went very well. We look forward to moving on to the next dives in December when we will aim for single digit water temperature!!! Lovely.....

Yes the viz was average but there was still life out of Brighton. I even saw a good sized lobster hiding in the silt.
Just back from a dive out of Brighton on Brighton Diver 2. The boat is so big I got lost at one stage!!! The storms did not help the viz with about 2m the maximum. Still, it was nice and warm both above and below which always helps. A decent wreck (well Tim and Pete thought so) and an average to poor drift. Still, after the season so far it was a successful day.
Pick up a copy of this week's Romford Recorder. Our Scouts' try dive from last Sunday is covered on page 67. Good stuff!

2nd Romford Scouts joined us on 29th June for a try dive session. 11 scouts got wet and all had an excellent time! Thanks to all club members who volunteered to assist on the night in making it such a success.
