A lovely time away and equally lovely to be home, especially after yesterday’s travel challenges. Plans changed, the journey changed and I had to adapt, which feels very much like yoga in real life. The practice isn’t about everything unfolding perfectly, but meeting each change with a steady mind and finding another way forward. Today it’s fresh flowers, unpacking and Bella conducting a very thorough inspection of the food shopping. Next week it’s back to the mat and back to classes. I’ve missed everyone and can’t wait to see you all❤️❤️

Today began with one last walk along Monifieth Beach before heading to St Andrews. Breakfast overlooking West Sands and the Old Course, then time to wander through the old streets, around the cathedral ruins, into a crystal shop and past the man himself, St Andrew.
In yoga, Santosha is the practice of recognising contentment in the moment as it is. Today it was found in sea views, huge skies, centuries of history and the simple pleasure of having time to explore.

A lovely afternoon with my sister at V&A Dundee, visiting the Catwalk exhibition, admiring the extraordinary Cartier Valkyrie tiara and looking out across the Tay.
Yoga Darshana gives us a philosophy for understanding ourselves and the world we experience. It encourages curiosity about what lies beneath the surface and an openness to seeing things from another perspective. Today, fashion became far more than clothing. It was movement, identity, history, creativity and storytelling.
And perhaps Santosha was there too, in simply appreciating the afternoon as it unfolded: time with my sister, something new to discover, plenty of laughter and a make-your-own Nessie waiting in the gift shop❤️

A lovely day in Edinburgh, beginning with the train crossing the Tay and following the coast towards the city. A day of walking, looking up, noticing the architecture, the flowers and all those beautiful little details that are so easily missed when we rush. A reminder that mindfulness doesn’t have to be a formal practice. Sometimes it’s simply giving your full attention to where you are ❤️

I don’t often share family photographs on my yoga page, but yoga is about so much more than what happens on a mat. It teaches us to notice what matters, to recognise love whilst we’re living it and to feel gratitude for the people who make our lives what they are❤️
This is my husband and my two sons at my elder son’s wedding in Italy. Just look at all my boys. I love these three beyond words, and the two wonderful women my sons married complete our family perfectly. One photograph, so much love and so very much to be grateful for❤️

Walking through the sand and onto Broughty Ferry beach today, with the water ahead, the castle to one side and Monifieth stretching away in the other direction. I can never, ever get enough of these home beaches. Yoga is about connection, and some places seem to bring us back to that feeling almost instantly. The changing water, the open horizon and the familiar coastline quieten the noise, widen the perspective and remind me exactly where my roots are❤️

I did some baking for our lovely neighbours and look what they gave me in return, including these beautiful roses and delicious tea. Completely unnecessary, especially as they’d already covered the cost of the ingredients, but so very gratefully received ❤️
In yoga, dāna is the practice of generosity, giving freely from a place of kindness rather than obligation or expectation. Sometimes that generosity is something we offer and sometimes it’s something we learn to receive. This lovely exchange was a little reminder of both and of how kindness continues to move between people when we allow it to❤️

Happy Full Sturgeon Moon in Pisces. In the early hours of this morning, around 93% of the Moon passed through the darkest part of Earth’s shadow during a deep partial lunar eclipse. The eclipse reached its maximum at 5.12am BST, giving the Moon a deep red or copper appearance, before it reached its fullest at 5.18am.
Full moons are traditionally associated with illumination and reflection, whilst an eclipse can bring an even stronger sense of completion. This eclipse ends a two-year cycle across Pisces and Virgo that began in September 2024, a period concerned with balancing intuition and trust with clarity and practical action. As that cycle closes, old feelings, patterns or questions may return to our awareness, allowing us to understand them differently and recognise what we’re ready to release.
Pisces is intuitive, compassionate and deeply feeling. Its influence encourages us to loosen our grip on needing every answer and listen more closely to what we already sense beneath the noise. This moon asks us to recognise what’s reached its natural end, release what we’ve outgrown and trust what begins to emerge when we stop trying to control every step.
That connects beautifully with Jñāna, the yogic path of knowledge and self-enquiry that shaped this week’s practices. Jñāna asks us to look beyond our familiar stories and distinguish what’s true from what we’ve simply carried for a long time.
Under this Pisces full moon, maybe the reflection is simply this: what can you see more clearly now and what are you finally ready to release?
