Last weekend we went to the London Area Development Event.
We only had a small group with Filip K., Filip P., Oliwia and Xavier.
Filip K. open the round for Osterley and manage to secure a fifth place.
He was followed by Filip P. who secured a third place on the podium with the 1st bronze.
Xavier was the third one to step on the tatami and secured the second place to get silver for his 2nd competition.
Oliwia, finally stepped on the mat after hours of waiting for her turn. Despite the wait, she soldiered on and secured the 1st bronze in third place.
Well done everyone.😊

LONDON YOUTH GAMES
Yesterday we took a group of 20 players to represent Hounslow Borough at the London Youth Games.
It was a long day starting with an 8.15 a.m. weigh-in and finishing with Kacper last fight at 7p.m.
We started with Group A made up of the youngest players Adin, Aarish, Bruno, Elisa, Sandra and Vladimir.
Aarish was the first to fight, followed by Bruno, Vlad, Adin, Elisa, and Sandra. Although, they all tried their best only Vlad (silver 🥈) and Adin (1st bronze 🥉) manage to make it to the podium, with Sandra finishing in 5th place.
Their group was followed up by Group B made up of Cahira, Daniel, Matvej, Nicholas, Nikolay, Pawel, Pola, Samantha, Serena, and Sut. They all fought brilliantly with some wins and some losses but the pools in this group were quite big so not everyone made it to the podium. Nikolay fought his way through to the final and won gold 🥇, Samantha "with "only" two good fights" (her own words😉) although she had more than 2 opponents, also managed to get the top place on the podium with gold 🥇, Nicholas who only recently graded to yellow belt managed to get silver 🥈, Daniel, Cahira, Pawel, Pola, and Serena also got a place on the podium winning a bronze 🥉 medal. Matvej and Sut finished in 5th place.
The day kept going and we moved on to Group C and our high graded players Edin and Zakariyah, with Edin managing a place on the podium with bronze 🥉. Having no players matching the criteria for Group D, we finished the day with the higher graded older players, with Nicola and Kacper wining gold 🥇, and Kenan fighting his way through the third place with the 1st bronze🥉.
On a final note, bith Misha and I would like to thanks all the parents and sibblings who joined us to support the team.
Overall it was a good day and we learnt a lot. Well done everyone, you made us proud.
The more you train, the more you compete, the better you get and the more confident you will be.
Keep it up!💪
