Pembroke Lodge hosted a dove release in memory of a lady who resided at the home 3 years ago. The residents had the chance to send their own message to a loved one, whilst enjoying tea, cake and bit of singing. You can contact Lambert's White Dove Release - Brighton if you are considering such a memorial for your loved one.

OPEN HOUSE AT PEMBROKE LODGE CARE HOME

On Friday 2nd June we celebrated the second National Care Home Open day on Friday 20 June with a BBQ and live music. Among those who attended was our MP Mike Weatherly.
The idea behind the day is to encourage local people to visit care homes in their neighbourhood and work together to develop better relationships between the home and the community.
This important connection is something that Pembroke Lodge has nurtured since opening in 1985 and the home is already acting as a community hub, including working with schools in the area and sponsoring 'Carer of the Year' in the Sussex Argus Achievement Awards.
Joy Davut Operations Manager at the home, said: "This is a great way to showcase the excellent services on offer and the fantastic work that goes on at Pembroke Lodge. Some people still have misconceptions about care homes so we are keen to dispel any myths that are out there and for people to come and see what we do."

Our Story

Pembroke Care Group is committed to improving the “quality of life” for older people. Sue Brand, a Director of Pembroke Care Group has over forty years’ experience working with the elderly and is an authority on staying healthy in later life. She is also well known for her firm advocacy of positive approaches to ageing.

The Pembroke Philosophy is simple. Older people, whether in residential care or not, have a right to independence and good health and that the quality of care they receive determines how long these rights can be maintained.

Pembroke Care Group also played a key role in the development of the RDB Star Rating Award. This is a nationally recognised independent award given to care homes following a rigorous in-depth annual assessment of their care home. It is client focused and concentrates on “quality outcomes”.

The Pembroke Care Group’s Training Package “Training for Care” provides care managers and staff with a comprehensive range of basic skills critical to giving older vulnerable people the quality of care, which we would like to see become the standard in this country.
