My wonderful yoga teacher Catherine Eastwood is offering once again BWY Foundation Course 1. I fell in love with yoga whilst attending her course. One of the best decisions of my life! Definitely worth doing if you'd like to delve a bit deeper into the world of yoga (and you do not have to become a yoga teacher) ☺️
"I have offered this course every year since 2017, and it continues to be one of my favourite offerings as it's a great excuse to meet up with wonderful people every month to explore what Yoga is!
This course is for ANYONE who loves Yoga and wants to learn more, this might be for personal development or for that first step in going on to train to teach Yoga.
The course has no written work, no assignments just space and time for you to deepen your understanding and experience of Yoga and how you can bring Yoga and its benefits even more into your life.
If you are interested or would like more details please contact me [email protected]

✨There are many reasons to practice yoga and the right kind of yoga for us may change through our lifetime.
Ultimately, however, I think that most of us practice to improve our human experience, to feel better, lighter, more grounded and healthier in our body and mind.
🌟 Whatever our reasons, could we also practice with a playful approach, with no goal, for sheer joy, maybe to meet, explore and enjoy time with our body, breath and mind? Yoga can be a mindful journey of self-discovery.
🧘Join me in one of my gentle Hatha inspired yoga classes, if you're not too far from Marsden, West Yorkshire; it might be the right class for you! ☺️
You are welcome to join whether a beginner or an experienced practitioner.
Mondays 18.30 - 19.40, St Bartholomew's Church, Parochial Hall, HD7 6DJ.
Fridays 10.30 - 11.40, Marsden Con Club, HD7 6DF.
Online options also available ☺️
With love, ❣️

✨✨ NEW evening class! ✨✨
🌟 My recent improvement both physically and mentally (as if these are separate) and, kind of, coming out the other side of long covid (OMG, did I just say that?!) means that I can now start teaching in the evenings too! 😀
🧘 Join me if you live at walking or driving distance and wish to gently improve your range of movement, resilience and strength, free-up your breath, calm your mind and relax. The classes I offer are slow, soft and accessible. Why not give them a try? ☺️
🌟 NEW evening yoga class: Mondays 6.30 - 7.40 pm at St Bartholomew's Parochial Church Hall, Marsden. Start date: 4th of November (please note that there will be no class on Monday the 11th as the Hall is booked for another event).
🌟 Friday morning yoga class: 10.30 - 11.40 am at Marsden Con Club.
🌟 For enquiries or if you would like to book, please drop me a line, [email protected]

Sometimes yoga is just being present with it all.. ✨🧡

“The roots of a tree are pulled deeply down towards the centre of the earth while the trunk grows vertically towards the sky, elongating and spreading through the branches into the space around it. The deeper the roots into the ground, travelling below the surface of the earth, the taller and stronger grows the tree.”

I CLIMBED UP A STEEP HILL!!! 🙌😃🌟
I was not able to go up that hill on Marsden Moor for over 4.5 years. In March 2020 I got infected with covid, then developed debilitating symptoms that were later diagnosed as long covid. My life changed radically overnight. At times I looked at that hill and wondered if I would ever manage to walk up there again.
Last week I was so eager to watch the sunset that I spontaneously decided to try it. I took my time, regularly taking breaks, placing my hand on my heart, patiently waiting for her to slow down, checking if my body was happy to continue along the path.
I finally reached the top, overflowing with joy; I did watch the sunset! 🌞 Still buzzing with excitement, I took a good rest after getting back home and did not experience any adverse effects. 😃
Yoga has been one of the pillars of my journey to recovery. Not just breath / meditation practices and relaxation, but also the philosophy AND movement - the right kind of movement for me, my abilities, my body-mind.
I’m grateful to my yoga teachers, Catherine Eastwood and Clare McAlpine, who showed me the way. I’m grateful to everyone who’s been supporting me along this journey. I’m grateful to the wisdom of my body that keeps leading the way towards healing.
Our body is wise but we have been conditioned to disconnect from it. Yoga offers tools to help us to remember how to listen and connect to our body again. Healing is possible when we go with it! 🔥🧡

✨ These are words spoken by a lovely lady that recently joined my classes. The kind hearts and smiles of the lovely people I'm sharing yoga with and their beautiful words keep me going and fill my heart with joy, gratitude and motivation. ☺️
✨A slow gentle class can be beneficial regardless of levels of fitness. Slow mindful movement helps us slow down and cultivate our inner felt sense; it gives a chance to our sensations to rise and guide our movement alongside our breath. This can also be massively beneficial off the mat.
✨ Yoga is versatile; it can be what you want it to be to suit your needs. That's the beauty of yoga (among other things!). ❤️
