Many thanks for all my Christmas cards and gifts from our wonderful members. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year everyone.

Another fantastic quiz night at IIBC last night and congratulations to the winners on Jackie and Julie's table.

Not a mobile phone in sight 🤔, anywhere in the room.

Our sincere thanks to Bob Hayter and his wife Sandra for organising it and keeping everyone in check. Weeks of preparation.

Sincere thanks also to our wonderful bar team, Lesley and Ron Doel and Tony Seago, raffle ticket sellers supreme, Barbara Jaye and Arlene Klein. To Jackie and Glen Stephens for donating the scrumptious doughnuts. To Stephen Pomerance for very generously donating two beautiful necklaces which were sold by auction and to all the members who helped in the kitchen, preparing and reinstating the lounge and for clearing and cleaning up after the event. Thanks also to those members who donated gifts to the raffle.

Final tally raised for our charity, the Alzheimer's Society UK, will be announced during the week but thanks to the generosity of all who attended, will be in the region of £400+

Great evening enjoyed by all, even if my table of learned dignitaries unfortunately came joint bottom 🥴. At least I now know how many coloured Smarties there are in a standard tube!

Afternoon all

At the last MT Meeting, we discussed score card sponsorship of our leagues for the 2025/26 Season. The cost is just £30 per league or £75 for 3 leagues. To get the ball rolling, I have already agreed to sponsor the Monday 2:30 League for now and if the response is poor, I might be persuaded to sponsor another league as well.

We are now giving all members the opportunity to sponsor a league for the 2025-2026 season,. If you are interested, please let myself and/or Steve Klein know and we will allocate you the league of your choice, if still available. Whilst we will do our best to give you the league of your choice, some have already been sponsored so the rest will be allocated on a first come first allocated basis. YOU MIGHT NOT GET THE LEAGUE OF YOUR CHOICE!

All we need is a small photo or PDF file of either you or a company logo of any company wishing to sponsor.

If we still do not have enough sponsors, Steve Klein and probably John Kaylor, will start looking for outside sponsorship to fill the gaps.

Any money earned will go towards the printing of the Handbooks and the cost of running the Bowlr system which is £1,000 a season.

Please let us know ASAP as time is running out to get things ready for the new season.

If anyone receives a friend request from me, as much as I might like you, it's because I've probably been hacked. Do not accept!

It’s been a terrific season at Ilford & District Indoor Bowls Club and our most successful for many years with Debbie Jones and Karl Bunyan reaching National Finals and our Over 60’s Double 4’s and our Mixed Triples teams being narrowly beaten in the County Finals at Falcon bowls club, only last week.

The following bowlers have been awarded County badges for reaching the Essex finals:

Wendy Gray and Mark Newman for reaching the Mixed Triples final.

Colin Green, Steven Klein, Glenn Stephens, Gary Burns and Micky Pace for reaching the Over 60’s Double rink final.

They join Colin Foster, Bob Hayter and Paco Rodrigues, who are established County badge holders.

Congratulations to all these players and a big shout out to the Ilford supporters who travelled to Broomfield to watch them.

We are closed now until the 15th September, for our summer break but look forward to an even more successful season in 25/26 and even more successes.
