CONGRATS CHARLOTTE !!!!
You may recall that our lovely member EUSPC Charlotte Uden came 🥇 in area eventing and then came 🥈at Pony Club Champs. I’m delighted to announce that Charlotte has been selected for the Pony Club Nations Cup.
The event is at Osberton International Horse Trials at the end of September. Charlotte has been selected as 1 of 10 pony club members to represent England, the only member from Area 8. It’ll be 2 England teams of 5, 4 scores to count. It’s an International / 1* track so a wonderful challenge.
I’m sure you’ll all join me in congratulating Charlotte and wishing her the very best of luck!

Please join me in wishing Tilly Mead the best of luck over the next two days. Tilly is taking part in the British University’s Equestrian Campionship and Trophy Final. Bear with me while I try and get this right!
Tilly will ride three dressage tests today, short and long track, including a team dressage test with two other riders she has not met or practiced with, all on horses she had not ridden before!
Tomorrow Tilly will start show jumping at 90cm, then moving up to 100cm, 110cm and finally 120cm on a different horse each time. Tilly will get chance to watch the horse work for 5mins, she then has 5 mins warm up, two practice jumps then compete! Thankfully Kate is on hand to assist where she can. A great achievement to get this far and a very interesting two days of competition. Good luck Tilly 🤞

Here’s wishing one of our ex EUSPC members Sophie Drummond the very best. She is competing at Badminton Grassroots this week. Dressage was yesterday and today is show jumping and cross country. Sophie was an EUSPC member from 2012 to 2020. She is the second EUSPC member in the last three years to have reached this amazing event gaining the experience and having this opportunity 🍀🐴🖤💛

A massive congratulations to Caroline Day on her latest achievement being selected for the 2026 European 3* Cup Squad with her horse King Kongka. We were fortunate to have Caroline teach at our Residential EUSPC Camp last year. Wishing you the best of luck Caroline on this exciting journey. 💛🖤

Please join me in congratulating Kate Mead our wonderful EUSPC coach on receiving the MacDonald Award. This prestigious award is given to Pony Club coaches that have demonstrated exceptional coaching contributions. We are very grateful to have Kate as our chief instructor.

This was a pretty special weekend for EUSPC. We are 42 pony club members strong, and whilst that might sound a lot there are many pony clubs out there with triple that number. So when we decided to throw caution to the wind and host an event after 10 years of hiatus, who would have thought it would have been a success! It was AMAZING! 130 dressage entries over two days, two warm up arenas and two dressage arenas. We had to build all of this with the help of RG and their amazing team. The sun shone on both days and it flowed like clock work, moving from one warm up to another then into the arena, framed by shrubs and plants loaned to us by Oliver’s Plants. We had prizes from Bailey’s, Ingatestone, Broomfield Equestrian, TRM, Crawfords and our beautiful rosettes and sashes sponsored by Paton and Lee. We held five podium prize giving ceremonies with our own Essex Union South Novice team coming 🥉
We are so thankful for the hard work, and our members attending and supporting even though they weren’t competing. Well done to all our competitors, Florence 4th and Emme 15th in the prelim.
Claudia 7th Amelie and Florence 10th in the grassroots. Tilda 4th, Georgina 12th, Pixie 15th, Amelie 17th and Pixie 18th.
A big thanks to all the wonderful people associated with our club. Feeling tired but happy this evening.

The Spring Festival Dressage Qualifier Saturday complete, what a day, lots of smiling faces and very happy pony club members - we at Essex Union South PC look forward to seeing our Sunday competitors. Thank you Radley Green Equestrian Centre, what an amazing venue.
