It’s not just the rocks that keep you company on Mt Kenya.

Look closer and you’ll spot curious hyraxes peeking from the granite, little birds flitting between cliffs, and signs of life thriving at altitude.

On an early morning walk with clients, Ntiamu spotted a baboon spider peeking from a tiny hole in the ground.

Drawing on his deep knowledge of the land and its creatures, he explained its habits and role in the local ecosystem, how it senses vibrations through the ground to hunt. And then, without a flicker of fear, he placed it on his hat.
