What a truly special afternoon at our Royal Bengal Sports Club & Association Awards and Celebration Ceremony.

We were proud to bring together players, volunteers, sponsors, community leaders, councillors, and families at Murrayside Community Development Community Centre to celebrate an incredible season and, more importantly, the people who make this club what it is.

The event recognised outstanding performances on the pitch, including our Player Awards and team medal presentations, and also honoured individuals whose dedication, leadership, and belief in community sport have shaped our journey over many years.

We were especially honoured to present the Lifetime Contribution Award to Manik Miah, recognising his long standing public and community service in Ipswich, and the Special Recognition Award to Mahbub Alam Shamim, whose early work helped establish organised competitive sport within the British Bangladeshi community more than three decades ago.

We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Ipswich, the Leader of Ipswich Borough Council, councillors, and community partners, whose support continues to play an important role in the work we do.

The day also marked the announcement of Altiatech as our new Principal Sponsor, and we are grateful to Monsur Ali and the Altiatech team for believing in our vision and committing to a long term partnership built on inclusion, opportunity, and social value.

Looking ahead, we were proud to announce the Royal Bengals Women’s Wellbeing & Active Communities Programme, an exciting new initiative focused on creating inclusive and accessible opportunities for women to engage in wellbeing, physical activity, and community connection.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, performed, presented, and worked behind the scenes to make the day such a success. This club is built on people, and Sunday was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve together.

Photos to come.

Full-Time: Ipswich Valley Rangers 3, Royal Bengals F.C. 5

Royal Bengals F.C. secured another important league victory with a 5-3 win away to Ipswich Valley Rangers.

In a competitive encounter, the squad showed character and resilience throughout, responding to every challenge and ensuring the three points returned to Ipswich.

This victory keeps Royal Bengals F.C. firmly on track in our debut Ipswich Sunday Football League campaign, demonstrating the same drive and focus that has become the hallmark of the club.

We thank IP Express Cabs for their continued support as we continue to build, learn and represent our community with pride.

Full-Time: Royal Bengals F.C. 3, Needham Market Phoenix 4

Our third league fixture ended in a narrow 4–3 defeat against Needham Market Phoenix, a result that, while disappointing, offers valuable lessons for our young side.

Reflecting on the match, Head Coach and Manager Nathan Glencastle said:

“Overall, we played great football, they had one chance and scored one goal. It was a good test for us and valuable minutes in the tank. We were camped in their half for most of the game and built up play well. We had two or three very good chances ourselves. A draw would have been a fair result, but games like this happen. A loss is only a loss if you don’t learn lessons, and we’ll learn from this and grow.”

While controversial refereeing decisions had a clear influence on the outcome, and a formal report will be submitted, we want to make clear that nothing is taken away from Needham Market Phoenix, who took their opportunities well.

For Royal Bengals F.C., this match is not a setback, but a step forward. As a new club in its debut season, every challenge shapes our journey. We remain united, focused, and committed to our goal, to be the most competitive, respected, and mature team in the league.

We regroup, we rebuild, and we go again, stronger and more determined than before.

This weekend we are proud to stand with The FA and NSPCC in supporting the Play Safe campaign.

Small conversations can make a big difference. Whether you are a coach, parent, player or volunteer, watch, listen, talk and act, because safeguarding our young people is everyone’s responsibility.

Let’s make football a safe, welcoming place for every young person, everywhere, every time.
