Lovely early mile long swim this morning along the River stour between Stratford St Mary and Dedham. Always the best way to start the weekend. 😍

An early mile swim along the deep stretch of river between Dedham and Stratford St Mary this morning with my Bluetit swim buddies. River a balmy 19 degrees! Lush swim 😍🦢🦢

Sunday swim from Dedham to Flatford & picnic with Colchester bluetits A long 1.5 mile swim in fairly shallow waters which took nearly 2 hours with no flow and against the wind. Had to be done as the last opportunity to do this stretch before the weeds take over. We were hoping to escape the duck mites too but oh no! Literally covered in bites. 🙄 Lovely picnic after until the cows arrived 🤣 Back to the deeper stretch of the river next week!

Back to the River Stour today. What a beaut of a long swim in the sunshine. Just the perfect temperature at around 15 degrees. Still a bit bitey but you can stay in for a decent length of time. Enjoying the peace & quiet before the masses descend on our spot next weekend following article in the Telegraph & the Essex Gazette about beautiful it is 🤣🦢☀️

Todays swim adventure was a mill to mill swim. 1 1/2 miles from Dedham Mill to Flatford Mill through the beautiful countryside which inspired John Constable’s paintings. First attempt of the year and the conditions were just perfect. Water temperature at 14 degrees and gorgeous sunshine. 😍🦢☀️ &free
