Full time Harbour lights 1-7 Kilwinning United.

Today we had a very slow start which when up against quality opposition will always be punished, we created a few chances which on another day we would have buried however the first half scoreline reflects the quality Kilwinning showed early on, going into the break at 0-5 heads could have easily hit the floor, however with a kick up the arse from the gaffer and a slight change tactically, the lads grew into the game and had the better chances in the second spell of the game, Ben scoring a lovely header was our only consolation although we created a few great chances shortly after which could have narrowed the score. With that said Kilwinning came out deserved winners today showing some top football at times and controlling the majority of the game. All the best to the lads for the rest of the season Kilwinning United AFC.
Next week we move onto Cup Action For the first time in the clubs short history!

What a Game!
Craigmark Burtonians 3-4 Harbour lights 🔵
Unlike the past couple weeks, we started very strong with Robbie opening the scoring within 10 mins with a composed finish after getting behind the defence. A defensive error(assisted by a horrible bobble) led Craigmark’s striker onto a 1v1 which he slotted away calmly, 1-1. Our no.10 Kenzie was next to break the defensive line getting his goal from the rebound of his own shot after a great save to their keeper, shout out to the lad made a few top saves throughout the game as did Connor between our sticks. Into half time at 1-2 the game was far from over, Craigmark grabbed another equaliser to get it back to 2-2 before we quickly grabbed the lead back through Ashton, 2-3. After missing a few chances to kill the game off, craigmark scored yet another equaliser bringing it back to 3-3 with all but 10 minutes left on the clock, it seemed we were pushing for the 4th but craigmark stayed tight at the back. Into added time and our big centre half Keigan steps up with a 35 yard half volley straight into the top corner via the crossbar, a goal that would be in contention of a Sunday league Puskas award😅, truly a wonder goal worthy of winning any game. Final score 3-4.
MOTM-Ryan (first game playing at centre half due to absences and won everything, new position unlocked for our Ryan)
Best of luck to craigmark for the rest of the season

FULL TIME harbour lights FC 3-4 Ardeer Thistle Sundays
Tough loss to take today, started poorly with Ardeer taking a 2 goal lead within the first 10 minutes caused by a very lackadaisical start from us. A brilliant move down the left finished off my by Ashton got us back in the game at 2-1, the boys woke up after that and were unlucky not to level it before half time. Thistle started quickly again from the second half and got another making it 3-1 before we really turned on the pressure, earning a penalty which Ross buried bringing it back to 3-2, after we missed a few clear cut opportunities, Robbie won another free kick in a dangerous area which saw him strike the bar with a great effort which was followed in by Ben making it 3-3. We then had plenty of opportunities to go ahead and kill the game off however poor finishing kept the scores even, with a minute left to go Ardeer get a free kick which wasn’t dealt with and the ball was turned in the goal following a scramble in the box. Final score 3-4 Ardeer.
Another day another scoreline but fair play to the lads at Ardeer, thoroughly fought for every ball and their effort was unmatched today. All the best for the rest of the season to the lads at Ardeer.

Harbour lights 1-1 newmilns ammys

Final friendly today before the season begins against strong Saturday league opposition. Boys put 100% effort today, along with showing some really good quality especially in the first half. A strong performance which had us sitting at 1-0 for the vast majority of the game, although a few too many bookings saw us down to 10 at the hour mark then 9 men for the last 15 minutes which was rightly capitalised on by a stonewall penalty awarded to newmilns which saw them equalise. The boys stuck in and fought hard to see out the draw and showed the fight we will need heading into the season.
MOTM- could have been a few lads today but Ben Morrison has earned it. Many thanks to the guys at Newmilns for the game and best of luck for the season ahead.
Next is Irvine United on Sunday to begin our league campaign, Cmon the lights!🔵⚪️

Disappointing result after a well fought match with Irvine United AFC. Today was a valuable 90 mins for the lads against experienced opponents where we definitely earned our chances and could have had a few more on different day, United played some brilliant football controlling the majority of the game and deserved their win.
At 3-1 Ross Munro scored what can most likely be named “goal of pre season” with a stunning overhead kick making it 3-2, at this stage we were really back in the game with tails up with Robbie netting an equaliser before being ruled out for a controversial offside, 2 penalties for United closed the game off after a lot of pressure forced mistakes.

Goals- ross Munro x2
Assists- Keigan Hill x1 Robbie Young x1
