Arrived at the lake around 11am and spent some time walking the banks of both lakes, spotting fish in a familiar area I know well.

After heading back to the van, I arrived at my swim and got the rods out. The traps were set over a bed of whole and crumbed TNT, with TNT pop-ups on the hair.

My first take came at 7pm, resulting in a lovely 19lb 14oz common. The night was quiet, but at 6:30am the following morning, my middle rod was away. After a great fight, I slipped the net under the Woodlands Mirror weighing an impressive 33lb 12oz.

Ashbury Fisheries

2nd trip of the year to Ashbury Fisheries this time on the top lake 🎣👍 we arrived to the lake Friday morning all excited for what might happen over the weekend 🤪🎣 draw was done and rods set up and areas baited with TNT 🧨 crumb and whole boillies soaked in liquid peanut 🥜 with matching wafters over the top.
The first night past with no joy of any captures 🤦🏻‍♂️ but just as the sun came up my middle rod melted off but unfortunately resulted in a hook pull 😡
Gutted and feeling sorry for myself I got the rod back out, to then have to wait until 1:30am the following morning for the next bite which resulted in 27.2lbs mirror 💪🎣 rod back out and on the money spot again,
then just before sun rise on the last morning my middle was away again 💪 this one was special as soon as I see it I knew it was one of the A-team a fish named orange spot at 38lbs 🔥👊🎣 a new PB for me 🫶🎣💪🔥🎣
A fantastic weekend with lots of laughs, plenty of banter, good food and most importantly great company 🫶🎣

My first recapture of the season,

I had this a couple of months back fishing up to a big snag where I had 6 bites 6 fish landed, this fish came just before getting my head down for the night,

this time round I had it in a swim I normally do well in at around 7am,

KBW chops and flake soaked in KBW rocket fuel doing the do as always!!

Chris Recently had a social up at Sandhurst and managed to come out 3rd in the draw, putting myself into a nice little swim. After a couple of quiet days, I managed to find myself a nice margin spot and decided to sit tight and wait it out.

The last morning finally produced the goods, with this cracking 34lb mirror falling to the ever-faithful TNT up the Steamis. 💪🎣🔥
