Kilk 2 Callington 1

A tough battle against Callington, but we come home with 3 points.

Emily S slotted us into the lead with a well taken finish after out-pacing the defence🔥

We then grabbed a second with Hannah making an excellent run in behind from Bex's flick on making the score 2-0 at HT🙌🏼

Callington pulled a goal back in the second half, but we held firm until the final whistle to secure the win💪🏼

Shout out to Giff who helped us on the sidelines in the first half, before putting in a great shift at right back in the second, and to Al who played in goal and made some great saves, despite having consumed a few beverages last night 👀

POTM: Gabs, really stepped up today taking control of the backline and putting in those classic Gabs slide tackles
DOTD: Izzy, seems to have taken up irish dancing

Our road to Wembley comes to a frustrating halt in Plymouth, with Signal Box progressing into the Second Qalifying Round.

With Signal Box playing keep-ball in the first half, we held our shape well and limited their chances. Em had a great chance with an excellent run through but the ball bounced agonisingly off the post.

We came out strong in the second half, playing our own football, attacking more strongly, and being bolstered by our bench.

Unfortunately a defensive header dipped over Kelly leading to an own goal and despite our best efforts we couldn't grab the equaliser needed to take the game to penalties.

Nevertheless, a great start to the season for the girls with two great competitive games under our belt, we look forward to the league season starting next week!! (And spending our winnings in Popworld 💃🏼🪩)

A shout out to the whole squad who have worked very hard in training & across our pre-season friendlies and FA cup fixtures!

POTM: Caz, ran endlessly in midfield and was a great physical presence winning back possession & sweeping up 👑
DOTD: Jem, wished the Ref good luck at the start of the game because she's just really nice🤣

HISTORY MAKERS!

Bideford 1 Kilkhampton 3

We make our way into First Round Qualifying of the Women's Fa Cup for the first time🤩

Ammy opened the scoring with an excellent top bins finish after outpacing the defence!
Bideford then scored from a long range effort. We didn't let this get us down, Bex then scored directly from a free kick, that made it all the way through.

HT 2-1 to Kilk

We continued to push for a third in the second half and were rewarded when Emily hounded the keeper and managed to squeeze the ball into the net!!

For the rest of the game we held firm from the waves of Bideford attack, with bodies being put on the line across the whole pitch, legs and ankles falling to pieces and an excellent line being held by the defence.

Player of the match was Ammy for non stop running and hounding the Bideford back line 👑

No donkey of the day today, everyone was class!

With no game this weekend some of the ladies took a trip to Adrenaline Quarry aqua park for some pre season fun 🌊

Mvp's went to Caz & Han for their 10/10 dismounts off the slide 👏🏼

Donkey of the day goes to Lou for the endless entertainment of trying to stay on her feet 😂

We have been working hard in training & are back in action next week as we kick off our 26/27 season with the opening round of the FA cup 👀
