This is easily the hardest post I have had to make on this page.

Last night the coaches held a meeting with the players and parents and came to the tough decision that we are folding our team, this was a very difficult decision that has been thought about more and more in the last few months due to us finding it increasingly difficult to get required numbers at training which has led to not being able to field a team for a weekend.
We have lost 9 players in total since the start of the 2021/22 season which any team would struggle to cope with.
This team was started up by Ian Ferguson and Joe McIntyre back in 2011 and has been going ever since until now.
On behalf of all the coaches I would like to thank all players past and present who have put on the orange and blue strip 🟠🔵🟠, all the sponsors over the years, our opponents who we enjoyed our ups and downs against whether we won, lost or drew, anyone who has helped fund us from hidden teams to last man standing comps, we’ve had some great referees and also anyone connected with helping run our leagues( anyone I have forgot I apologise)
Lastly, we still have several boys still interested in playing football, everyone knows my number so if you need any boys for key positions in your team or even to keep them training then let me know and I can pass on the parent details

All the best for the future

Todays match ( 6th Feb ) v Cumnock has been cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
Safety of players and parents travelling to the game comes first.
We gave the game every chance to go ahead by even booking an all weather pitch but the unpredictability of the weather has made our club, Cumnock and the ref come to this decision
Game will be played at later date

Kilwinning Rangers -5
Bellfield - 0

A bad day at the office yesterday for the lads , it would be fair to say that for the first half hour it was a relatively even game with chances for both teams few and far between. After going a goal down and then conceding a second on the stroke of half time we just couldn’t get going in second half.
A very flat performance on a heavy grass pitch is probably the best way to sum up our first game back after a month off .
A fair bit of disruption to the squad losing 3 players in December/Jan left us with 12 players for the game and losing Oliver to injury in this game hasn’t helped matters.
However we will battle on and get back to training tonight with 2 more difficult games against Crosshouse and galston on the horizon .

League match Sunday 5th December

Bellfield - 2
Darvel - 5

Playing today at the grange against Darvel we knew we were going to be up against it but the boys should be proud of the effort they put in against a quality boys team

Again we only had 12 players in total for various reasons but every single boy put in 100 percent and it was a mixture of tiredness from us and quality from Darvel that pulled them away in last 25 mins.

We have worked hard on the shape of the team after a heavy defeat to Bonnyton last month and the boys are buying into this.

A couple of counter attacking goals by Lewis tidy with his pace sent us in at the break 2-1 ahead, a mixture of great defensive work from the midfield down to the defenders and Ewan in goals restricted Darvel to 1 good long distance finish.

The second half we held strong again for the first 15 mins but in fairness the opposition were knocking at the door with good chances and loads of possession, tiredness started to creep in as the boys were chasing the ball a lot and we lost shape a bit and Darvel took away some quality goals in the last 20 minutes to make the scoreline probably seem a bit more comfortable than it actually was for them

Well done lads

Sunday 28th November

Crosshouse - 6
Bellfield - 3

The scoreline might not look great but the lads put in a far better shift today against a good Crosshouse team, the shape of the team was better with everyone giving 100 percent for the full game.
Both teams made individual errors on a very tricky surface with boys slipping on the grass pitch but it was still good to get the game on.
We gifted Crosshouse a few early goals and were down 2-0 within 10 mins, a couple of nice balls through saw Cole one v one with the keeper and as usual he finished nice and composed to get us level.
We fell behind again shortly after before another similar finish as the first two by Cole saw us go into the break level at half time 3-3.
The second half there wasn’t much in it again tbh, Crosshouse in fairness had more of the ball but we were happy to let them have it as we got most boys behind the ball, they took their chances when they came, we missed a couple and that’s football.
Overall happy with the team performance with only 1 sub due to various reasons today and a big shout out to Connor for turning up when not feeling great and putting in a shift for the majority of the game

Bellfield - 2
Bonnyton -9

Bad scoreline for the boys yesterday against a strong Bonnyton team.
We’ve never been a team to hide away from bad results and when we know the reasons for loads of goals conceded then it’s half the battle and easier to know how to fix for the next time.
Back to the training ground we go and onto our next game against Cambusdoon on Sunday where we will get a reaction from the lads like we always do

League match 7th November

Bellfield - 6
Dean thistle -1

The boys were at the grange today for the first time in years against our neighbours Dean Thistle.

The first half we created numerous chances and actually knocked the ball about ok for the first 20 mins but we couldn’t take any of them, chance after chance went begging, due to that and the score remaining goalless some bad habits crept in and we were starting to unnecessarily force and rush things.
We managed to go ahead from a corner wirh Ryan finishing with his head but not long before half time one of our ex players Aiden scored a free kick to send us in level at half time 1-1.
A relatively stern half time chat was had with the boys and the message was to stay composed when the chances came and the goals would come, to be fair to the boys they took it well and went out in the second half wanting to improve.
The second goal was an absolute worldie to follow on from last weeks, Ollie picked up the ball around 40 yards from goal and unleashed a beauty of a shot over the keeper who had come off his line, after that goal the boys settled and added further goals from Connor( 3rd in 3 games since joining) , Max, Aaron and Jay.
Lessons to be learned from the game and we hope to see as many of the boys at training this week with a big game coming up next week against another local rival in Bonnyton

League match result Sunday 31st October

Bellfield -2
Kilwinning whites -2

The points were shared today against Kilwinning in a decent game of football between the 2 teams.

Not a massive amount to say about the first half, very little chances for Kilwinning and even less for us, both teams committed with physical but fair challenges all over the pitch, Arron took a sore one on the knee just before half time and had to come off for the remainder of the game and with only one outfield sub we were stretched numbers wise .

The second half Kilwinning went in front with a great overhead kick by their tall striker and went 2-0 ahead not long after when we were beaten down the channels with a through ball and their winger scored well.

With 20 minutes left a good ball in by max was semi cleared by the Kilwinning defender but it broke to Connor who finished well with his left to get us back in it to get us going.

The equaliser was one of the sweetest strikes I have seen in a long time, Oliver had the ball at the back post but when he crossed it in it was cleared to around 25 yards out where Kerr took it on the half volley, cut across the ball and hit into the top corner.

With only around 5 minutes left no teams created much more and the game ended even.

Although only a point today it was a far better team performance and good shape today so it was good to see the boys listening to instructions and a change of formation

League result Sunday 24th October

Troon -2
Bellfield -1

After not playing a league game for ages due to the Scottish cup and holidays it was back to league business against Troon.

Always tight games over the years and unfortunately it was us that came out on the losing side this time.

The first 15 minutes of the game we played well and knocked the ball about nicely and created a few chances, then we took the lead through a good strike from Connor with his left foot.

Half time we were 1-0 up

The second half we just couldn’t get going for some reason, lots of boys admittedly off the pace, it’s football and these things happen, we conceded two in the second half and barring a few chances that their keeper saved we couldn’t really have any complaints about losing the game

Well after 3 months we finally have a winner of our last man standing competition. After newcastle, Leeds and Crystal Palace failing to win today knocking out Craig po***ck , william Mcluckie and Cathy Burslem that meant Leanne Watt walks away with the £250 prize after arsenal won for her on Friday night.
This competition has not only given Leanne a nice little prize but this also has helped the club gain £250 for club funds to help get through the winter period, on behalf of everyone connected to our team I would like to thank every single person who had a shot and I hope that most of you have another go and win the next one in February
Thanks
Alan

Cambusdoon 7
Bellfield -2

The Scottish cup is over for another year, poor day at the office by the lads with loads of individual errors leading to easily avoidable goals, missed chances for us that we normally put away and that’s just the harsh reality of football sometimes.
We have come back from a hell of a lot worse in the last few years so one bad result won’t halt the good progress the boys have been making.
Heads up lads and we will come back stronger
Scorers - Logan and Cole

Congratulations to Cambusdoon and we wish them all the best in the next round
