Good run out against the Nelson lads in a friendly , with 5 big players missing and having to put a left back upfront first half wasn’t the best preparation for a big game , plus players having to leave early isn’t ideal but a good run out and minutes for everyone involved, plus one of our players played for them 🤣, we missed far to many chances and got punished for it, well done to Nelson great goal at the end from Shaun to sneak the win 👍

Today we host our good friends lord Nelson, the last team jonesy played for 👍

With both teams missing a lot of players today our game still goes ahead with minutes needed in the legs of both teams with big games coming up , the score doesn’t matter at all in this one, early kick off 12.30pm noddle hill playing fields so we can all get home and out to watch man united qualify for the championship league 👊⚽️

It’s also looking like the rain as cleared so if you fancy watching a decent set of lads from both teams have a good kick about today get your self to noddle hill 👌

🏆 Yes get in, we’v gone and done it in the league, golden invincibles , won 17 from 17 with the 8-0 win against cottingham before they folded that got chalked off, absolutely outstanding from the jones lads 👊⚽️

Our attention now turns to the final on 31st May at Roy west centre 2pm kick off hope to see a lot of you down there for AFC Jones last big push 👍

I’d just like to thank everyone who’s been involved this season especially every single player who’s been class for us all season long, and a big thank you to our captain Jack Wilcock who stepped up and made sure the lads turned up and he brought a few new class players in himself, with last seasons man of steel and captain daz jones who wasn’t available through the winter months he agreed Jack would be a great replacement to the role 💪, last big thank you goes to my assist manager Paul Jackson we’v done what we wanted to achieve for our closest friend craig jones ❤️

That’s us jones lads finished top of the charity league and straight to the play off final. Already achieved what I wanted in memory of craig jones.

It was a very tough physical game and fishers were the better team in the first half, going 1-0 down seem to wake us up 2nd half , magic from Attila soon made it 1-1 after clever work from Karl, then Attila soon got his 2nd after great play from Charlie lambert put the ball over the top for Attila to get his 2nd. Attila then came provider with a great cross to jack Wilcock who turns the fishers defence inside out to put jones 3-1 up. Fishers hit back with a very strong goal to make it 3-2 but there discipline got the better of them after a red card, But jones wasn’t finished with a great corner from Attila who so man of the match chappy score a great header near the far post to put the game out of reach. Man of the matches - chappy who was unbelievable today , and Attila who showed his class with 2 goals and 2 assists 👊⚽️

On to the final on Sunday 31st May , with a few games in between to prepare 👌

Another great result in awful weather conditions, first half was awful playing against the strong wind seeing shots come back to nearly half way, even nibby hit a shot towards hull town centre and it ended up in Beverley. But once we starting playing on the floor we got a couple of goals and went 2-0 up , a great corner so brucey head it across goal for jack Wilcock to score at the far post. Quick running from sage sees him get his first of the game. Credit to geo they used the wind well and scored a great free kick from about 25 yards out, geo kept using the high ball using the wind and scored a 2nd that rich Wilcock almost kept out with what looked a great clearance but it some how hit the roof of the net. Half time 2-2.
As you can imagine I wasn’t happy a made a few substitutions, 2nd half we looked class and past the ball around like this jones team does best, we scored straight away from another Attila corner that brucey headed home and finally got that goal he deserved. Our quick attacking play continued with 2 more goals from sage , from a great assist off Jay Kay and one off Attila so sage get his hat trick. another goal soon came with a curling left foot shot from Karl smith lobbed the keeper, moments later a well worked goal with a cheeky back heal from crissy that Attila smashed in the net. Fair play to geo they didn’t give up and made a few attacks of there own but man of the match rich wilcock just cleared everything that came his way aswel as a diving header off the line. We carried on our attacking play with a great shot from Jay Kay smashing the post that jack and daz jones raced to score but the geo defence just beat them to it. We had time for one more with a shot from Liam cooper that hit off the shin and went to jack Wilcock who did a great turn and curled it around the keeper . All our substitutes made a massive impact today , and once again daz jones quality helping in a number of positions, another solid performance from Harry and Jaykay , and chappy made it impossible for geo to get back in to it. Good to see crissy back to his best and Jay back solid in the defence. Attila is a nightmare to mark for the opposite teams and Both the Wilcocks were outstanding also 👏.

Not the best game from the jones lads today , apart from the pitch been awful the lads couldn’t seem to get going for a while and our passing was a mile off as a team, but we dug deep in a scrappy game and got the job done. We missed an hand full of chances in the first half an hour, but the breakthrough came from a superb cross from Attila that so matty carr running towards the back post and hits the ball on the half volley in the top corner, then moments later a great run from sage who was brought down in the box to be awarded a penalty that Attila neatly sent the keeper the wrong way, we carried on missing a few more chances and could tell it could be a frustrating game, hall rd caught our defence napping and broke through but a suburb save from stand in keeper steve Jacko pulled off a worldie save , half time 2-0.
2nd half we looked more comfortable and attacked a lot faster , and quality goal from Attila early on to put us 3-0 up, then a hand ball in the box from an Ashley hughes shot gave us another penalty that Jack Wilcock smashed home. They was still time for one more from Attila to complete his hat trick, man of the match was Harry who made the game look simple in the middle and sprayed the ball all over the pitch 👏, well done lads another 3 points in a scrappy game. I’d like to make a special mention to matty carr who flew home from America yesterday and still played 90 minutes today and scoring once again and added to his assist tally , superb commitment that Is 👊⚽️

On a slightly negative note I’m a bit disappointed players not turning up again, that needs to change if we want to go all the way to the final 👍

Back in league action tomorrow at home against Hall Rd Rangers , kick off 2pm on noddle hill playing fields , looking to keep the unbeaten run going to get closer to finishing top. Hopefully all the bad weather is now behind us and we’l get a great run of games to finish the league off in style. It’s going to be a great day tomorrow so hopefully see a lot of you there supporting us, it’s good to see the players family’s are starting to come and support us on the side lines 👊⚽️

JONES STILL UNBEATEN -
Today we played the very experienced matts legends, with both teams not having there keeper available and us loosing Charlie and chappy 2 hours before kick off made we worry abit, especially with Attila out of action aswel. But our quality in the squad showed again today . Very close first half although matty Carr was unreal on the left smashing the post twice from distance and putting sage through twice for him to score 2 first half goals, legends pulled one back with a great near post effort that beat us napping. We tried to get the 3rd before the break with great foot work from Ross and jack Wilcock winning us 4 free kicks around the box but legends held out. Legends also tried to push to draw level but couldn’t get passed our solid defence and the strength of steve cooper. 2-1 jones at half time.
2nd half was similar to first with sage’s speed causing them a lot of problems, the 3rd goal came with great running in the box from Ross who was brought down for a penalty, captain Jack Wilcock slotted the ball home to make it 3-1. Sage soon got his 3rd of the game with a neat ball through from Harry who had another solid game in midfield he just got the ball through legends defence for sage to place it in the net. Legends hit back with an outstanding long range shot that so our keeper a mile off the line , 4-2 jones. Legends seem to tire as we put the pressure on to get the 5th, sage came provider and put a great cross along the 18 yard box with matty carr smashing a right foot volly in to legends net. Legends pushed forward but steve cooper and Jay bilton were just too strong to let them through. Final score 5-2 jones.
