Parks AFC U8 vs Hull United U8

We played our last game of phase 2 last Sunday and the boys certainly turned up ready to play. Game 1 saw the boys play some great football and got themselves in front with George finishing off a flowing move. They defended well and continued working hard getting back into their positions but unfortunately with the last kick of the game the opposition equalised after a corner kick was scrambled in. The second game continued like the first with the boys racing into a good lead through a Filip hattrick, but once again the parks didn’t give up and brought the game level. Just as they have done throughout the season the boys weren’t finished and after the ball was flicked on, Harvey was there to volley home the winner. It was a great way to end the season and we now look forward to the summer tournaments 👏

Goals on the day:
Filip ⚽️⚽️⚽️
George ⚽️
Harvey ⚽️

Parents player of the match going to Mason who didn’t give the opposition a minutes peace, never stops running, winning the ball back and looking to drive forward at every opportunity 🏆

Coaches player of the match going to Filip who finished the season with another hat-trick to add to his unbelievable goal tally. He also worked hard to help his team mates in defence 🏆

Riley Rangers U8 Tigers vs Hull United U8

Last week we came up against a new opponent in Riley Rangers who proved a very tough task for the boys. Across both games the boys battled hard on a tough pitch and on another day if we take our chances the outcome might have been different. Unfortunately Riley played to their strengths and being used to the long grass came away with the spoils in both games. It was a great learning opportunity for the boys on how to deal with some strong play from the opposition, but they did great standing up to the task. We are looking forward to playing our last game of phase 2 tomorrow before the summer tournaments start.

Goals on the day:
Dominik ⚽️

Parents player of the match going to Freddy who had his best game this year, defending well, standing up and battling against there bigger players, and showing his skill and passing when moving up into a midfield position 🏆

Coaches player of the match going to Alex, who once again pulled off some great saves, keeping the score down and gaining big praise throughout from the opposition coach 🏆

East Riding Rangers U8s vs Hull United U8s

Today we come up against a team we last played at U7s on a bright sunny afternoon. The first game saw the boys work tirelessly, defending in numbers, getting the ball down and playing some nice football. East Riding stood firm though and it took a great corner from Dominik and volley at the back post from Filip to end with a positive result and clean sheet. The second game started much like the first with Dominik firing us in front with a great strike. We struggled to convert chances after that and found ourselves behind before a great bit of attacking play from Harvey found George in the box to equalise late on. Two very close competitive games 👏.

Goals on the day:
Filip ⚽️
Dominik ⚽️
George ⚽️

Parents player of the match going to Alex, clean sheet in the first game, his shot stopping and distribution is getting better and better each week and he did really well commanding his area today. 🏆

Coaches player of the match going to Mason, his best game since joining in phase 2, he was non stop all over the pitch, I lost count how many times he won the ball back and drove the team forward at every opportunity. 🏆

Hull United U8s vs Cherry Burton U8s

Last Sunday we faced a new opponent in Cherry Burton with 2 completely different games on show. The first game saw the boys start really slow compared to previous weeks and found themselves a few goals behind. Although a comeback started in the second half, Cherry burton scored again to end our unbeaten run since the first game of phase 2. The second game was completely different, the boys took on what was said at the break and came out with a totally different attitude, defending well, scoring some great goals and finishing with the positive result they deserved.

Goals on the day:
Filip ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Dominik ⚽️
Harvey ⚽️

Parents player of the match going to Harvey who was none stop up and down the pitch again, never giving up and grabbing his first goal for team with a great finish 🏆

Coaches player of the match going to Filip who once again scored some brilliant goals and took on board what was worked on in training to try and create for his teammates 🏆

Swanland FC U8s vs Hull United U8s

Last Sunday we came up against Swanland, the team who it all started against when we played our first ever game.

You could see the improvement in both teams from when we first met and this gave us 2 very competitive games. The first game saw the boys continue their impressive form with some great attacking football and battling for each other all over the pitch to gain a positive result. The second game continued in the same way, both teams battling hard and both keepers pulling off some quality saves. On another day we would of come away with another positive result but a slight mistake in the last minute allowed Swanland to level the game, as we know mistakes happen and is part of the learning process, overall 2 great games from the boys again.

Goals on the day:
Filip ⚽️⚽️⚽️
George ⚽️⚽️

Parents player of the match going to George who playing in a new position down the middle bagged himself two brilliant goals and he worked his socks off throughout the game 🏆.

Coaches player of the match going to David who was up and down the pitch helping in defence and attack, providing two great assists for the team 🏆

Hull United U8s vs Westella & Willerby Wanderers U8s

Today we took on Westella on a very cold morning at Haworth Park, with only 7 players available the boys knew it would be hard work again.

Game 1 saw a very close battle at the start with us pressing hard to get in front with some nice build up play but Westella defended well to keep the ball out. Once the first goal went in the boys took control and some great finishing from Filip ended with a positive result. Game 2 was much of the same with some great goalkeeping and defending to stop Westella in the first half. Then after going a goal down early in the 2nd the boys immediately struck back with another brilliant strike before carrying on the momentum and gaining another positive result. Great effort from everyone on the pitch working hard for each other and never giving up 👏.

Goals on the day:
Filip ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

Parents player of the match going to Alex, who pulled off numerous top saves to keep us in the game and is distribution was on point making his own mind up when to play short or get us up the field quickly 🏆

Coaches player of the match going to Freddie who was a rock at the back, won the ball back consistently, took up some great positions to clear the lines and provided 3 assists with some great through balls 🏆

Hull United U8s vs Sproatley Jaguars U8s

Last Sunday we took on a familiar team in Sproatley who we have had a couple of great and close games against.

Once again this was no different and in game one with some new players on board who slotted in superbly we created numerous chances and worked really hard defensively to keep a clean sheet. It took a brilliant goal from Dominik to end with a positive result. Game 2 saw much of the same but a couple of errors saw us go 2 goals behind. This spurred us on and in the closing stages managed to bag 2 goals to draw the game level. It was great to see the boys dig in and not give up despite going behind.

Goals on the day:
Dominik ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Parents player of the match going to Harvey who on his first game for the team worked tirelessly up and down the pitch helping in defence and attack. Even after a heavy tackle this didn’t stop him and he was straight back up and it. 🏆

Coaches player of the match going to Dominik, driving us forward again and again, standing up to the opposition with some great tackles and bagging a hat trick across the 2 games with some top strikes. 🏆
