Great run out training session with Bransholme Bears girls under 12’s.

This week we travelled to Methley for the Battle of the Warriors against a great-spirited team and an all-round brilliant group of girls 👏

With a few of our girls away on holiday, we shuffled the positions, tried a few new things and handed debuts to two new players. Add in the hot, hot weather ☀️🔥 and it was another good test for the girls.

But Myton came out firing!

Within seconds, Emmie used her blistering pace to touch down, quickly followed by a brace from Willow — and from there the girls kept the pressure on.

👏 Moment of the Match

This one came straight from the training field…

Setting up around halfway, we called an inside drop-off that we’ve never tried in a game before.

Willow hit an absolutely perfect line, Emmie shaped to play the i
Wide ball, sold it beautifully and Willow burst through the gap with a sweet inside drop-off before going the length of the field!

When they talk about something as a group and then put it in to practice perfectly👌❤️💚

But probably the best thing to see today wasn’t a try or a tackle.

It was the camaraderie, organisation and communication between the girls. They stayed upbeat, encouraged each other and showed the opposition nothing but respect throughout.

That’s what this team is about. 👏

🏅 Coaches Player of the Match – Matilda

What a performance!

Half the game at 7 and half at ho**er — two completely new positions for her — and she didn’t look out of place in either.

A massive step forward in both defence and confidence. She played out of her socks today and showed us another side to her game.

And she managed it all without even needing a bit of sympathy tape on her knee… 🤣🤕 Those who know, know!

🏅 Parents Player of the Match – Ella

First time pulling on the famous red and green hoops ❤️💚

Understandably a little nervous to begin with, but then came her first proper carry, some big contact… and she simply got back up smiling! 💪🏻

From there she settled into the game brilliantly. She listened, learned and worked hard for the team.

A fantastic first outing and hopefully the first of many 👏

🏅 Opposition Player of the Match – Emmie

Another game spent moving us around the park.

Her natural position may be 9, but her hands and feet are far too valuable to keep her there! 🤪

Thriving away from ho**er, she marshalled the game brilliantly through the middle — distributing, dictating the pace and direction of our attack, while defending like a beast.

Then moved back to 7 and put on a show…

👏 Special Mention – Rosie

Another debutant today and she fitted straight into the group.

Some really good early contact and absolutely no fear getting involved. We’re looking forward to watching her develop because we think there’s a very tough middle in the making! 💪🏻🔥

I could genuinely mention every single girl today.

The whole team contributed, embraced the positional changes, welcomed our new girls and worked for one another from first whistle to last.

Strong middles. Fast backs. One team. ❤️💚

We’re looking to bolster what has been a really successful debut season.

If you currently play mixed and will now move into girls only or of your playing for another club but wanting a new challenge.

Moving from 11 aside to 13 aside we need some more experienced girls that are driven team players looking for a new challenge.

- A pact pre-season with a mix of strength and conditioning at a CrossFit gym and 4g floodlit training facilties.

Amazing that our very own Scarlett has made the shortlist..

Brilliant recognition, thoroughly deserved.

She’s a pleasure to coach, an absolute sponge when learning, never misses a training session, applies herself every week, not only consistently, but building on the week before.

The youngest girl in the team, playing a year up but not to be outshone, she is one of our star larkers!!

Only downside… She’s a Robin! 🤣.
