Team News | A busy Sunday at KLCC! 🏏

All three of our sides are in action this Sunday.

The Ladies XI get the day underway at 10:00am, hosting Sedgwick as they look to continue their excellent recent form. A huge thank you to our Ladies sponsors Sapphire Utility Solutions and The Lunesdale Arms for their continued support.

At 1:00pm, the Second XI take to the field, also at Lunefield Park, as they host Barrow, looking to get back to winning ways.

Meanwhile, the First XI make the trip to Millom for what has become one of the standout fixtures of the season. It’s always a fiercely competitive contest between two strong sides, played in a fantastic spirit. We’re also delighted to welcome Andy Hind back from injury as he returns to the squad.

As always, a huge thank you to our club sponsors AJM Decorating, Swift Scaffolding NW, One Mint People and Number 44. Your continued support makes days like these possible.

Good luck to all three teams! 💙🏏

That’s a wrap on All Stars & Dynamos 2026! 💙🏏

What a fantastic summer it’s been.

Seeing so many young cricketers enjoying our club each Sunday has been incredibly special. Bringing youth cricket back to Kirkby Lonsdale CC has been one of our biggest ambitions for a long time, and to see it become a reality has made all the hard work worthwhile. This is only the beginning, and we’re excited to keep growing the game and building an even bigger cricketing community in the years ahead.

A huge thank you must go to Aaron and Andy, who have done an incredible job organising and running the programme from start to finish. Your time, enthusiasm and commitment have made the whole thing possible.

We’re also so grateful to our brilliant volunteers who gave up their Sundays to make each session such a success:
Jess, Dan, Harriet, Joe, April, Kully, James, Matty and Mel, plus all the other parents who volunteered and supported.

A special thank you also goes to our ground staff, whose hard work behind the scenes keeps Lunefield Park looking its very best every single week. The facilities our youngsters get to enjoy are only possible because of the countless hours they put in.

To all the parents, thank you for choosing KLCC and bringing your children along every week. And to every All Star and Dynamo—thank you for your energy, enthusiasm, smiles and willingness to have a go. Watching your confidence and skills grow week after week has been a joy, and we hope you’ve made memories that will keep you coming back to cricket for years to come.

Finally, we couldn’t end another All Stars & Dynamos programme without remembering our Forever All Star, Alana Moscrop.

Alana remains at the heart of everything we do. She is always in our thoughts, forever in the hearts of everyone at KLCC, and will always be remembered throughout our club and the wider Kirkby Lonsdale community. Her spirit continues to inspire us, and we’re proud that every generation of young cricketers who comes through our doors becomes part of that legacy.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this summer so special.

See you all next year! 💙🏏

A tale of two thrillers… and some career milestones! 🏏

Both senior sides were in action on Sunday, with plenty to celebrate.

The First XI welcomed Heysham, with Ru captaining in Nige’s absence. Batting first, we piled on another huge total of 227, continuing KLCC’s reputation as a superb batting track.

Albert (31), Ru (15), Mossy (17) and 23 extras all chipped in, but the day belonged to Jakob Smith. Promoted to open this season, he brought up his maiden century with a magnificent 119 from 116 balls, striking 19 boundaries in a beautifully paced innings. After reaching his first senior fifty earlier this year, Jakob now has a century to his name – many congratulations! A special mention too for Zach Taylor, who finished the innings with two classy boundaries in only his third senior game.

Heysham fought back brilliantly, with five batters passing 20 to keep the chase alive right to the closing stages. Teasy (2/17) and Mossy (1/33) made the early breakthroughs, before Foxy (1/43) and Charlie bowled well. Ben Birch then claimed his first senior wicket, removing the dangerous Marsden on 37 from 25 to swing the game back our way. Jakob added 1/1 from two overs before Alberto finished the job with two wickets, securing a 33-run victory and maximum points. Catches were shared by Josh Ridds, Ben, Zach, Ru and Charlie.

The Second XI travelled to Ingleton and were involved in another thriller, narrowly falling 12 runs short.

Bowling first, Ollie Higgs starred with 5/53, backed up by F***y (2/19) and Dec (2/1). Higgsy also held two catches, while Duckers took one and F***y added both a catch and a run out.

In reply, F***y (24) and Higgsy (20) led the chase, but we couldn’t quite get over the line. A special mention to Lou Hart, who recorded her first senior boundary for the club. Five valuable bonus points came home with the side.

As always, thank you to our club sponsors AJM Decorating, Swift Scaffolding NW, One Mint People and Number 44 for their continued support.

This Sunday: The Ladies host Sedgwick (10:30am), followed by the Seconds against Barrow (1pm), while the First XI travel to Millom for what is always a cracking fixture.

Three lots of results to bring you!

Two wins and a loss across our teams in the last round of fixtures.

Starting with the ladies on Thursday, taking on a strong Sedgwick side as we looked to reverse the result from the away fixture. Bowling first, Lottie (1/6) and Katie kept things very tight against the opening pair. With an excellent fielding performance throughout, as well as wickets for Lou Hart (1/15) and Harriet (1/19) plus a great final over form Collins, kept Sedgwick to 127/3. Watching from the side, it really shows how hard the girls have worked on fielding, and match awareness, with regular field changes, skipper Ellie Bunday led from behind the stumps with aplomb. In reply, Jess (7) & Lou King (9) got us off to a solid start, building the chase without losing a wicket, crucial in this format. Before Lou Hart took the scoring on, making 15, supported by Katie’s 4, Harriet (7) added more runs with Courtney as we reached the final pair. Lottie (10), and Ellie (13) held their nerve even after losing a wicket each, needing 2 off the last ball, Bunday smashed a four to see us home and cement ourselves at the top of the league!

Second XI, hosting Ambleside, who batted first on a decent looking deck. Ambleside captain Hunt made 73, and was well supported throughout, however regular wickets from KL made sure we were firmly in the contest. F***y (1/20) economical as ever, Azza picked up a wicket, as did Joe (2/36), Duckers finished the innings with his first ball finishing 0-1-0.1 😂. Pick of the bowlers was Dec H***e, who is taking to KL cricket pretty well, his 10 overs returning 4-48, as Ben Birch took 3 catches, and Zach Taylor bagged a run out, to see Ambleside set us 195 to win. The chase was very Bunday, a name becoming synonymous with winning games for KL, Duckers made a nice 37, and Joe 10, however the destruction from Ru’s 134* including 14 4s & 9 6s, saw us over the line in the 25th over. Another ton for a remarkable player, and a well deserved full points for KL.

The Firsts travelled to Barrow, and Nige’s 73, alongside Jakob’s 23, and Teasy’s 32 got us to a decent total of 176/8 from our allocation - huge mention to Katie Collins, scoring her first senior runs for the club!

In reply, barrow had 2 significant partnerships which in the end we couldn’t control, wickets for Dan (1/49), Trev (1/15), Jakob (1/35) and Nige the pick with 2/29.

3 bonus points travel back with us as we look to move on!
