Bookings open now - WildWood Sunday brunch in the woods
We, as a species, have one of the most complex taste buds, and yet everything can be summed into 5 categories: sweet, salty, savoury, sour & bitter. Truth is though that we associate food and its flavour with more than just taste. Food is an extension of who we are and what we love.Cooking over fire has happened since the creation of fire itself. Cooking the way our ancestors cooked is like tapping into an old source of wisdom. Sharing a fire connects and makes differences become smaller. Food isn’t just food anymore, food is community.
Let’s push past the urge to whip up a meal in under 60 seconds, gather in the woods, light a fire, watch the smoke curling up into the sky and get ready for the smells of open fire cooking unfolding!

Hi folks, hope you are all well and have come through the last 18 months in good shape. I won't be restarting Young Rangers myself but am pleased to say that we have found someone to do so in September. Her name is Peggy Beer and you may well have seen her around Denmark Farm as she knows it well.
I'm so glad that the children have an opportunity to keep going to Young Rangers, and I'm very glad to hand on to someone with the Forest School qualification.
Peggy will be posting soon with more details through this page, so keep liking and sharing, but if you would like to contact her in the interim her no. is 07974576325, [email protected]
It's been great knowing you all and here's to more fun in the woods.🌳🌲🌿☘️🎋🐁🐿

In the hols come with your child and get some ideas on how to make a camp in your garden/land, cook your food over an open fire etc. See post for Build a Basecamp at Denmark Farm.
The weather has turned cold folks, the Young Rangers will need their hats, gloves and waterproofs tomorrow. The stove will be going in the roundhouse though with lashings of hot chocolate.
Last chance to sign up for Young Rangers starting on Thurs. Please message me if you haven't been before and I'll send you all the info.

ALL ABOUT "YOUNG RANGERS"
A weekly after-school club for 6-11 year olds.
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm-6pm at Denmark Farm Conservation Centre, Lampeter.
The sessions are run on the Forest School ethos, providing the opportunity for the children to let off some steam in the outdoors after school. We provide a range of craft, cooking, bushcraft type activities the children can choose from, or we just facilitate them to do their own thing.
The club is run by Sally Harvey. I am an experienced Forest School Leader, having qualified 8 years ago and have worked with Cardiff Steiner and Trefilan schools, Tir Coed, Longwood and Denmark Farm.
I am insured for all Forest School activities including tree climbing and rope swings, have a current outdoor first aid and food hygiene cert and a DRB.
If you would like to find out more, or book a place for your child then please send us a message here and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
Each session costs £7 per child with a £1 reduction for each sibling. Places are limited - so book early to avoid missing out.
If you have any questions email me at [email protected], or phone 07799052131
Thanks, Sally Harvey
