Building your booty… what does it take? 🍑
Let’s take a look at my lovely client Amelia, who wanted to build strength and muscle across her physique, particularly in her glutes
Besides exercise selection, a huge factor in this is configuring the right diet to enable this growth to take place - something Amelia had always struggled with
With an inconsistent work schedule and naturally low appetite, it was difficult for Amelia to fuel herself with enough food to actually build the physique she desired
… which is where coach Lara came in 😏
By gradually increasing Amelia’s calories over time, she successfully gained around 9kg by the end of her bulk, at which point she was actually rather distraught about the thought of having to cut calories down (despite previously being able to eat fairly low calories on a day to day basis)
In the lead up to her going travelling, we focused on shedding a small amount of body fat to visibly reveal the muscle she had built during her bulk and give her physique more definition
Building muscle isn’t a quick process, so if you want to actually grow your glutes, you need to commit yourself to the process just like Amelia did. Super duper proud 🩵

Thinking about getting a PT or online coach? Here are 3 important things for you to think about:
1️⃣ Figure out what your goals are
Do you want to achieve a certain physique? Gain muscle and feel stronger? Lose body fat and reach a healthier weight?
Or are you less physique focused and simply want to build good habits, a solid routine and feel better in yourself?
Whatever it might be, the first step is to work this out 💭
2️⃣ Find a coach you resonate with
Every PT has different beliefs, a different style of coaching, and different methods to help you reach your goal, whatever that might be.
The most important thing for you as a client is to choose someone who you feel you’ll of course get along with, but more importantly someone whose journey and values ignite something in you 🧠
3️⃣ Choose the type of coaching that suits you
If you have some experience in the gym and you’re fairly self-motivated, online coaching can work very well.
If you need help with technique and/or learning how to reach a higher level of intensity in your workouts, in-person PT might be a better option for you.
If you purely want structure and don’t need accountability, a standalone programme might be what you need to keep you focused.

You know what you want but you don’t know how to get there…
Sound familiar?
When Rimzim first approached me (from across the pond! 🇺🇸), she had already lost 10kg herself and now wanted to focus on toning up her lower body, increasing strength in her upper body, and improving her overall muscle definition
Other than her incredible visible physique transformation over the past 9 months, she’s gained enough confidence to transition from home workouts into the gym

I wish I had more photos or videos from when I first went to the gym 10 years ago, but I don’t
Either way, it looked a little like this:
I kept a low profile and used mainly machines or trained abs
I wouldn’t go in the scary weights room or attempt to use a squat rack
I didn’t record my weights or track my progress
I rarely broke a sweat
I did a few classes here and there to improve my confidence, but never saw major results
I pretty much just made it up as I went along
But I wanted to learn and improve, so I kept showing up
I felt lost and embarrassed, on more than one occasion
But over time, I grew in confidence
My technique improved
My strength increased massively
Mentally, I found a place where I could put my headphones on and zone out from the world
And that’s why future me decided to help other women build their confidence so they can do the same
I’m writing this because I want to reassure anyone reading this that the gym IS for you
Like anything in life, you’ll always start out a beginner
You’re going to gain confidence and become strong af, just like everybody else in there
I belong there, and so do you 🫶🏼
