was formed in the spring of 1952 by a group of local motorsport enthusiasts, namely Arthur Caunt, Arnold Eastwood and Jack Shaw. The club grew rapidly in the 1950s and 60s organizing frequent Road Rallies, annual rounds of the Players No. 6 Autocross Championship, the Leighton Hall Speed Hill Climb and many Clubman events.
