This year has been great for the club in growing to fulfill the ambition of signing enough players in the age groups, as the age groups get older we have the squads available to compete.

🟡⚫ ST LAURENCE YOUTH FC AGM 2022 ⚫🟡

St Laurence Youth FC held their AGM on Wednesday night at The Crown Inn which was well attended by parents and coaches.

The club are happy to confirm that a new committee has been formed to lead the club in the next stage of their growth.

The full committee will be announced after the festive period.

The club would like to thank the outgoing committee for their hard work over the last year and wish them all the best going forward.

Prior to the new committee being formed, the old committee had agreed for two age groups to move away from the Saints family. The 2013 group have left with Paul Sinclair to join forces with Mearns Youth Football Club - Laurencekirk to create a new team and Paul Bruce will be taking the 2012 to a new independent club on his own.

We wish both teams the best of luck.

🟡 We are planning for the 2023 festivals at Forfar and are looking to appear twice a month with 3/4 teams per age group (2017/2016/2015) and St Laurence Youth are looking to recruit in some age groups.

⚫ On the age groups at the moment we currently have 25+ boys/girls and we ideally look to keep around this number.

🟡 As each group get older the numbers increase for little games as eventually they get closer to eleven a side in their teens.

⚫ We have a structure set-up that each age group has a dedicated 6 to 8 football coaches to help the boys and girls develop in the sport.

🟡 If you are interested in joining in whether your child is new to the sport, plays football or looking for a new team for the season ahead and lives in Aberdeenshire/Angus then why not contact us and see what we can do to make sure that the talent in your child is not wasted.

⚫ We are a fun, friendly and growing group with many ex footballers helping to bring the best out of the talent we have in the area.

With the weather not being great over the last few weeks last Saturday we again were unable to train due to the frost.

We arranged for the kids to get a free play at our mini kickers sponsor for a few hours on Saturday morning where we gave out a small treat to them from the club.

🟡⚫ SAINTS MINI KICKERS DECEMBER UPDATE ⚫🟡

Another great turn out over the last few weeks for the newest group in the saints family.

The 2018 & 2019 are now indoors at Mearns Academy from 10:15 am till 11:00 am. The group is currently sitting with around 30 registered kids and loving the training from the new coaches.

The final session last Saturday before the festive break had a surprise visitor for the kids 🎅. Look forward to seeing you all back on the 14 January 2023.

The Group is lead by Ross Adamson and Ryan Arthur and we have a number of new coaches with the group which is great to see. With this numbers being so high, having enough coaches is key to the success of the club and young age group.

We have a small waiting list to join the group but any interested mums or dads please contact the club to secure a place when this becomes available with the club into the start of next year.

🟡⚫ SAINTS WINTER CAFE STAND ⚫🟡

Tomorrow morning we have a small café stand which will be situated next to the Astro at Mearns Academy at the bottom of the stairs.

This will be there every Saturday morning when training is on and open to the public, open from 08:45 am till 11:00 am.

We would like to say a big thank you to Scotmid Food and Scotmid for supporting our little café with a community grant.

Scotmid’s Community Grant scheme helps deserving causes across Scotland. Since 2012, they have supported hundreds of projects which have touched the lives of people living in the communities they serve.

Any profits made are to be reinvested into the St Laurence Youth FC Groups going forward.

We now have some spaces available in our 2013/2014 group based in Laurencekirk. We can offer places for any boy/girl based in the Mearns Area.

As a club we have structured our group to have 6 coaches available and dedicated to this group so we can offer the best training/equipment and most importantly development and understanding of the sport.

🟡⚫ DUNDEE UNITED ACADEMY 5x5 FESTIVAL DECEMBER ⚫🟡

St Laurence Youth 2015 were invited along last Sunday to the Regional Performance Centre in Dundee by Dundee United Football Club.

It was great for the boys and girls to be involved and experience playing against other clubs in the Dundee area.

The 2015 did well and competed with some good young players from other clubs in the area. Well organised event run by Dundee United FC Academy and thank you for inviting us to take part.
