⚽️ Match Report – Radford Vets 7-3 Ilmington ⚽️
Today Radford Vets hosted Ilmington in a friendly fixture and, despite a few shaky moments, came away with an entertaining 7-3 victory! 👏
The game started slowly, but the lads soon got the ball rolling with the opening goal. Unfortunately, our keeper had a bit of a nightmare and gifted Ilmington an equaliser 😫. The response was spot on though, as we grabbed another before half-time to go into the break with a 2-1 lead.
The second half started brilliantly with two quick goals putting us 4-1 up after 55 minutes. Just as it looked comfortable, we got caught napping and Ilmington pulled one back to make it 4-2. Not long after, another keeper howler 😫 made it 4-3 and suddenly it was game on!
Thankfully the lads stepped up and finished strongly, firing home another three goals to put the game beyond doubt. We were also let off the hook when Ilmington were awarded a penalty, only for their player to attempt a Rabona and send it sailing over the bar! 🤣👍

Match Report 📝
This Sunday we travelled to Tiddington to face Tiddington Vets.
We had a shocker of a start, going 1-0 down early. Things then got worse as we went down to 10 men, and shortly after conceded again to make it 2-0. A shaky first half overall, but we did start to grow into it just before the break.
Second half, the lads stepped it up a gear. We pulled two goals back in quick succession through aj and Wallo, both set up brilliantly by Jay B 👏
Unfortunately, a mix-up at the back saw us concede again 😕 but we responded well and grabbed another to level things up.
As the game went on, it felt like we were the team most likely to go on and win it. However, after some commotion on the sideline, the opposition called the game at 85 minutes.
Frustrating end, but great character shown from the lads 💪
Up the RSV 🔴⚫️ On to the next one!

Game Day vs
This weekend saw us go head-to-head with the unbeaten Long Itchington, hoping to get one back after our 5–3 loss to them in our first game of the season.
We started the game strong but unfortunately went 1–0 down early on due to an own goal 😕. The lads didn’t let their heads drop though and pushed hard for an equaliser. It came from a corner after a bit of a scramble in the box, with reacting quickest to slot it home and make it 1–1.
About 10 minutes later we were awarded a penalty after a foul in the box, and Dave Ramsey stepped up to calmly put it away to give us a 2–1 lead going into half-time.
Not long into the second half we made it 3–1 with an absolute phenomenal strike from Ko, catching their keeper completely off guard.
As the half went on, Long Itchington were reduced to 10 men after a red card, but credit to them as they kept pushing and managed to pull two goals back to make it 3–3.
A great game of football and a hard-fought point for the lads ⚽

Last game day we faced Stratford Bards down at Radford Sports & Social Club.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t our best outing. The pitch was heavy and tough going, which didn’t help the legs — but if we’re honest, playing two games in two weeks probably took more out of us older lads than we’d like to admit 🤣
2 goals from
And motm
Still, no excuses — we dust ourselves off and go again.
Next up: away at FISSC, and with a proper two weeks to recover, recharge, and get the stretches in, we’re hoping to come back stronger and bring home the win ⚽️⚽️

The team headed to Shipston-on-Stour today to take on Honnington Vets.
We went a goal down after 20 minutes but reacted quickly, with Terry Bayliss firing home the equaliser. Honnington regained the lead soon after, but we showed great character and levelled again before the break thanks to a brilliant header from Rich Judd, making it 2–2 at half time.
Changes were made at the interval, and they paid off almost immediately. Within five minutes of the restart, put us ahead before extended the lead with a cracking header for our fourth.
The game was end to end for a spell, but we sealed it when .1969 on the pitch for just five minutes, put the game to bed with a perfectly placed finish to make it 5–2.
A fantastic all-round team performance 👏
