League football is back 😍

This Sunday we make the short trip to Adel as we face Horsforth Fairweather, a side we've not faced for a couple of years!

We've had a very good pre-season, unbeaten in all of our games and now we look to take that form into the league and get the season kicked off on the front foot!

A good win to end an unbeaten pre-season!

Falling behind twice but showing good drive and quality to come back level twice, and then sn**ch the win right at the death, a very good end to an entertaining match!

The opposition took the lead from a corner (that shouldn't have been a corner), with Abdul equalising not long after after Shaun found him free in the box! They took the lead again from a free kick, which begged for someone to get on the end of it and unfortunately for us, they did.

Our equaliser came with a dash of luck, after Brad battled and swept up nicely with the opposition threatening to get through, he's sent a long ball forward from our own half and the flight caught everyone out, including their keeper, as the ball bounced over him and in to an empty net!

The second half was largely uneventful, a couple of chances for both sides but turned scrappy with both sides making regular changes due to the unexpected heat!

We took the lead and sn**ched all 3 points in the 87th minute, with Erico having all the time in the world to pick Shaun out at the back post to head it down, and with a little help from the keeper who carried it over the line to clinch our 3-2 win!

Another solid outing for the lads tonight as we saw off Saturday side Beeston Juniors Reserves!

The opposition had the better of the early chances as we struggled to get into our groove, resulting in an opportunity from the spot just before the 10 minute mark. Benji was the hero, saving to his right and keeping it level!

We took the lead 2 minutes later, with Dyl sending a raking ball to Charlie, who finished first time from a difficult angle! It was two not long after, with again another raking ball finding Brett who layed it off first time for Abdul to finish in the bottom corner!

A little bit of handbags and three sin bins later, we were down to 9 and the opposition 10, with nothing of note taking place after!

We started the better of the two after half time, introducing some more fresh legs, with Aladdin causing their left back no end of issues, and eventually winning our own penalty, that Dover casually slotted away.

The game was all wrapped up 20 minutes from time, with Aladdin causing more problems down the right, the ref played advantage and allowed Erico to send in a tasty ball for Joe to nod in for his first for the club!

Some great football on show, and another win in pre-season to make it 3 from 3, with our final game coming up this Sunday before we get the season started!
