🏆 Tournament season is underway! ⚽️

A brilliant afternoon on Sunday as the Jets competed in their first tournament of the summer at Laund Hill.

The team remained undefeated and didn’t concede a single goal all tournament, right through to the final, where they narrowly fell short in a 2-0 defeat to Marsden Warriors.

Runners-up in our first tournament of the summer isn’t a bad start at all!👏

Most importantly, there was loads of fun, plenty of team bonding, and laughs throughout the day - exactly what grassroots football is all about.

Next up: Presentation night on Wednesday🏆

Special memories made in Barcelona this week, seeing our players have so much fun and create amazing memories together, the parents, coaches & siblings just as much🫶🏻

The jets reminded undefeated on tour playing U14 sides. To come back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 in our final game was unbelievable in the 29 degrees heat too💪 some graft from the girls!

An incredible first full day on tour in Barcelona for our U13 Jets🇪🇸⚽️

It was an early start as we headed to the magnificent RCDE Stadium - the home of RCD Espanyol de Barcelona for a brilliant stadium tour, before spending a couple of hours sightseeing, exploring Barcelona and enjoying some time on the beach☀️🏖️

This evening, the girls faced a talented Spanish U14 side - CE Premia Mar in extremely tough conditions, with temperatures hitting 29 degrees. It was a very physical game, but the Jets produced an outstanding performance to come away with a fantastic 4-2 victory. The work rate from the team was incredible after such a busy day and the buzz on the coach home was something else💃 really nice for both teams to mix together after the match🤝

Couldn’t be prouder of the girls-their attitude, resilience and teamwork were superb all day. The most special part is seeing them make such lovely memories with their team mates and families☺️

An absolutely brilliant first full day, and now we’re looking forward to a slightly more relaxing morning tomorrow before another fixture in the evening👏

The Jets have landed in Barcelona ready for a week creating memories and playing matches against Spanish teams⚽️💙💛

Final training session before our tour to Barcelona next week meant only one thing….

Safe to say it got very competitive but the kids nicked the winner 3-2😂 rematch on the beach next week🏖️⚽️☀️

It’s been an extremely busy final month fitting in multiple fixtures every week, but the Jets finish the season as DOUBLE CHAMPIONS🏆🏆

I’m so proud of every single player and everything this team has achieved together this season. None of this would be possible without the incredible commitment from all the parents, siblings and supporters who back the girls week in, week out. We rarely don’t have a full squad available for matches or training, and I think that speaks volumes about this group and the environment around the team.

As a coach, you honestly couldn’t ask for much more.

We celebrated after our final league game today with a team meal and drinks before we head off on tour to Barcelona over May Half Term, even more memories to create with this brilliant team to top off an unbelievable season.

What. A. Final. 😮‍💨

The Jets flew out of the blocks and were 2-0 up at half time after a dominant first-half performance. Ivy opened the scoring inside the first 10 minutes before Darcy added a second just before the break after we created chance after chance⚽⚽

In the second half, Castleford came out fighting. Their high press caused problems and they pulled one back with 10 minutes to go after a great move down the right. Momentum was firmly with them and after hitting the post in a goalmouth scramble, they found the equaliser with only minutes remaining… 2-2😬

Penalties. Never the way you want a final decided… but this team showed unbelievable character and composure to nick the winning penalty and COMPLETE THE DOUBLE!!! 🏆🏆

Massive credit to Castleford who gave absolutely everything and pushed us all the way today, an incredible cup final between two top sides 👏

And somehow… we face each other AGAIN next week in the final league game of the season😂

So proud of every single player.
