🏆⚽️ What A weekend......

A Fantastic weekend for the Reds starting with our Presentation Evening on Saturday which went on late into the night watching 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿.
Then onto Wyke Gala this afternoon with Kyla playing her last game for the Reds before her move to Leeds. Fittingly Kyla slotted home the goal to win the final for the Reds for our 3rd Gala victory of the season.
A bit of a break now for the Reds then we go again and new signing Lacey will be linking up with the Reds. Crofton Gala is the next action at the end of August so until then Thank You all for following the journey of this group of absolute Legends

The 26/27 Season squad is now complete nice and early to give us the best start knowing who we have to work with for the season ahead.

The squad is shaping up nicely with the founding girls of Millie, Lucy and Sophia still sticking with the Reds for their 4th season
A first full season for Lexi, Anna and new signing Lacey linking up with the girls wearing #23 for the Reds.

Belle is switching up from #3 to #10

2 summer galas left then back into preseason for another exciting season at LS26 for the Reds 💪🔴⚽️

🚨 Exciting Transfer News for the Reds. We are delighted to Welcome Lacey on board for the 26/27 season.

After spending last season with Brayton in both Division 2 & 1 Lacey makes the move to the Reds as a striker.
It is a testament to the Legends in the team that we can attract players with key attributes to compliment the squad and higher division experience to help the Reds push on next season.

I hope you will all make her feel very welcome at her new home at LS26

Congratulations to our #12 Kyla on her move to Leeds Academy.
Kyla has been nothing short of an inspiration for the team for the last few seasons scoring over 80 goals in the process. An exceptional talent rightly getting the recognition she deserves.

Kylas last game for the Reds will be the Wyke Gala on the 12th July.

The Reds are looking to add a forward player to our team for next season

We are pushing hard to be moved up to WFGFL Div 2 so the position would suit a player with experience in grassroots.

An evening of celebration for a Great bunch of girls ❤️⚽️🏆

Full Time on the 25/26 Season for the Reds.
After a promotion from Division 4 we were unsure what to expect of this season but the girls have continued their hard work and showed ambition and drive with a never give up attitude to remain unbeaten in the second half of the season with the last loss coming back in November.

Yesterday, we were fortunate enough to have all the girls available for the final game and they put on a showstopper with some fantastic attacking football

Belle captained the side for the final game after a fine run of form.
Even though we started with over 60 goals starting on the bench the girls showed why they are such a good team and got off to an early start with the captain for the day taking responsibility to get us in front with a fine touch and finish.

The reliable and hard working back three of Ivy, Lucy and April kept chances to a minimum and Sophia came to collect the ball and did what was needed controlling her area and showing her ever reliable kicking game

Sophie and India kept pressing on the wings and Millie held the fort in midfield as she has done all season.
Ava used her relentless energy and electric pace to get her goal in typical fashion with a 1-1 and slotting home from
close range.

Even game time for all was the order of the day and on came Lexi, Kyla, Niah and Anna all itching to get involved and all would later get on the scoresheet.

Lexi quickly fired home with her trademark dribbling and finish, Anna picked up her first goal after pure persistence and battling, Niah reacted first to finish well, Lexi got her second of the game and Kyla waded in with a powerful strike from the edge of the box.

A fitting finish to a fantastic season of positive attacking football for the Reds.
One very proud coach!

Thank You to all the referees, opposition coaches, teams, players, opposition parents and our own parents for bringing the girls to games and training sessions.

Finally myself and the girls are grateful to everyone that has supported the Reds and offered kind words and support this season.
Hopefully the girls are given the opportunity to start next season in Division 2 and raise the bar further🤞

Reds V Methley Lionesses 2nd Leg.

In the words of Fifa.. "Brave Rothwell Finally Lose". Reds 2 - Methley 4

Another Sunny day at LS26 brought about a rematch of the game from last week against Division 1 Methley.
The Reds couldn't get the result but the 10 players certainly gave it everything and played the only way we know how.

After taking an early lead through Great closing down from Ava and pure persistence from millie to break through and score Methley showed why they are division one and fired two quick goals to go into the break with a 2-1 lead.

After spending training working on corners the Reds conceded their first goal from... a corner 🙈 with a finish from close range followed up with a high looping shot from the edge of the box that came down from the clouds and over Sophias reach.

The Reds came out again and gave their all with an unreal display of closing down and driving runs from the midfield of Niah and Millie who didn't give Methley a minutes peace all game.

Millie got her second goal with a shot that just crept in and over the line.
Once again Methley piled on the pressure and as solid as the back three of Lucy and April were under Ivy's Great leadership Methley broke through the middle of defence finishing well.
Kyla had drifted wide then going at defenders with a bit more space to work in and started fizzing balls into the box with Rothwell Very unlucky not to get something from them

Ava was throwing herself desperately into the path of the ball and just flashing wide a couple of times with a cheeky headed attempt in there too.

Both teams had a flurry of corners with Rothwell pushing but Methley defended well. Down the other end it was much the same with Sophia keeping a couple of dangerous balls out.
Belle and India kept working to try and get the Reds forward and created good opportunities.

India and Millie both had to come off in the last ten minutes leaving the Reds with 8 players for the rest of the game. Not that it was obvious with the girls left on the pitch giving everything.

"You are not defeated when you lose, You are defeated when you quit"

The Reds don't quit and never give up, finishing the game rightfully proud of the mornings efforts and most importantly with the right attitude, handshakes and smiles.
The Reds first loss since November against Killinghall from Div one in the cup and It is Good to see that we lose well with good character.

Well done to Methley a fine two weeks of games which will only make the Reds stronger and help them with their football journey.
